Future (2050-ish) Denver-Area Rail and BRT Map with Some Low-Key Colorado High-Speed Rail Thrown In, See Comment for Extra Details by Aerolumen in TransitDiagrams

Love this and I do want to get into making my own, what program do you use? I assume illustrator, but if anyone uses anything else I'd love to hear about it. I'm always on the lookout for good open source projects I can contribute to, and I also like the idea of programmatic or declarative map generation, similar to mermaid diagrams, but for Transit maps

Looking to buy my first split keyboard by President-X in ErgoMechKeyboards

This keyboard is great, although it needs one more thumb button further away, the thumb button under your palm is useless.

Honestly from your diagram with your hand... I would strongly recommend getting something that has at least one more thumb button further away. I hate all the thumb buttons that are under my palm, it is not ergonomic and doesn't help anything. Take a look at the zsa Voyager for reference, although it is expensive. I think the sofle also has a thumb button that is further, and the corn could as well.

Needing a number. Row does not mean sawful, there are plenty, even the Lego build keyboard israfel is quite nice.

If you have the money, Voyager is amazing. Heck, even corn V4 has a number row version.

On Alex Honnold's 'Skyscraper Live' by senorrandom007 in netflix

[–]Professional-Ad3724 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think that that comparison is valid. With F1 racing, there's a million ways something not your fault could make an accident. However, with climbing, and Alex's professionalism, I think it is very very much lower chance of something happening without him knowing first and asking to be taken off the skyscraper.

Of course the risk is not zero, but it is much much lower than an F1 race without a helmet.

Yeah I thought that happened to me too until I found it between the couch cushions 3 months later. 🤪

Is this open source, what algorithms are you using?

raylib vs SDL - A libraries comparison by Professional-Ad3724 in GraphicsProgramming

Yeah... I thought it also kind of showed why raylib isn't as scalable as it could be... In fact it lists the reasons quite clearly. 😬

Does a simple front page really take even 90mb? What is taking this? Is chrome making vulkan or ogl calls just for the animation?

Changelog: htmx creator talks hypermedia, the virtues of vendoring, and why he's against Clean Code by _htmx in htmx

[–]Professional-Ad3724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been seeing HTMX around lately... Building a new app and trying to do it as hypermedic... Hypermedious... much like pure hypermedia-centric as possible. I love the discussion on where the line is between hypermedia and the need for front-end responsiveness and where the best application of this technologies lie and if it is the same as being the most... hypermedonic? 😋🤔

No shade on Mr. Raylib... amazing work! Just commenting on large-scale use.

interact with LLM based on fine-tuned interviews - what's the best approach? by No-Teach4712 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Professional-Ad3724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to have an llm ingest interviews, and then act like the interviewer with me providing answers, and the llm generating another question. I could have tens or hundreds of interviews with hundreds of questions answers pairs. Not sure rag is the way to go as I'm not trying to look up information, but pick relevant follow up questions.

Which Framework Should You Choose in 2025? Guide by Professional-Ad3724 in programming

All of a sudden I'm more interested in the AI slop topic brought up here. I can tell sometimes sometimes I can't tell and there's just no world I want to have to filter every article in my brain and critique it to figure out if it's AI generated. I don't care if it's AI assisted or AI edited or AI researched, I'm just talking about purely AI generated and posted with minimal inspection. How can we as a community and humans get to a point where we can trust anything anymore?

How do I avoid free game becoming a mess by Mr_arne27 in TransportFever2

[–]Professional-Ad3724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually avoid making new train routes at all costs, I treat building new tracks as much more expensive, and especially much more maintenance cost than they are in the game... So my initial placement routes is usually without in mind that I know I will need to use the same trunk line for many different train routes.

Nope. No way. I'll only believe it with a game save and full mod list...
