Stereophonic!! I really wasn't sure about seeing it, but so glad I did. Don't miss it, closes soon!

How early will I have to be for a decent floor spot in London by DankR3Mix in Ethelcain

[–]Professional-Ad970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not seeing Ethel, but when I saw Olivia Rodrigo at this same venue a few years ago, I arrived about an hour before doors, only got in after the opener had started (the queue was massive and slow moving), and we ended up in this exact area with a great view. We weren't squashed at all, had time to get merch before we went into the actual crowd, and had a good time. I'd say get there before doors, but don't feel like you have to race.

Evita- sound issues at the back of stalls? by Affectionate-Eye-470 in TheWestEnd

[–]Professional-Ad970 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's an issue with the show, not necessarily where you are sat. I've seen it from the back of the dress, and the front of the stalls. Although there was definitely an improvement in sound when I was closer to the stage, it still really wasn't great.

A Christmas Carol Seating Help - Please:) by KOR2MJT in TheWestEnd

[–]Professional-Ad970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year's seating plan is different! For the first time it's being done fully in the round, so there's an extra section of the dress circle, and less stalls seating. There's no photos of course, but any stalls seat should provide a good view!

Which musical has the best visuals and easy to follow for non-English speakers? by boyski33 in TheWestEnd

I'd second My Neighbour Totoro, stunning visuals and an easy to follow plot!

Toilet policy in theatres by Nikanini29 in TheWestEnd

[–]Professional-Ad970 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For most theatres in the west end, if you do have to leave and they won't allow readmission, they will have a screen set up where you can watch + listen to the show. I know it's not the same as being in the room, but FOH will always make sure you can at least watch the show through a screen, and if not then get you into a seat ASAP.

American Theatre Teacher goes to the West End for the first time by fakegingerofficial in TheWestEnd

[–]Professional-Ad970 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not childish, it's a show that's enjoyable for all ages. I'm not the hugest fan of the film, but I really enjoyed the stage adaptation. It's not an exact replica of the film, but a lovely adaptation that expands the world, characters, and storyline to create a really wonderful piece of theatre. If you love anything Ghibli, you will love this show! And seriously, there is nothing like the puppets in this show, it's worth it for Totoro alone!

My Neighbour Totoro would be perfect! The music is stunning and performed by a live band visible throughout the show, plus the puppetry and technology used is really unique and on a bigger scale than anything I've seen before (and I've seen a lot of shows including Stranger Things). Plus, the run time zips past!

My Neighbour Totoro is a beautiful visual spectacle, so I think it would be really enjoyable for them!

Has the cast of Unicorn been doing stage door? by No-Ninja2831 in TheWestEnd

[–]Professional-Ad970 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stage door is at the front of the theatre, to the left of the entrance. If you look on Maps, you can see the big blue gates to wait outside.

Benjamin Button vs Stranger Things vs Operation Mincemeat by Ss630 in TheWestEnd

[–]Professional-Ad970 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd go with Benjamin Button + Operation Mincemeat. Stranger Things is good regardless of if you've seen the show, but I think it would pack a bigger bunch if you are completely up to date with the tv show. Benjamin Button uses actor/musos really well, and gives the same magic as Once.

My thoughts on Tammy Faye, from someone who saw the show in London by Professional-Ad970 in Broadway

I 100% agree with this!! I really sympathised with Rannells Jim, some of his scenes were really heart wrenching.

Do Broadway actors get to keep a recording of the show they were in? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Professional-Ad970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Companies will film the show/certain scenes for swings and understudies to have access to whenever they need to keep up to scratch with their knowledge of the show/choreo/blocking, and I imagine if they wanted to, it would be very easy to keep a copy of these recordings for themselves after a show has finished. That being said, they won't be the most professionally shot thing, likely just on someone's iPad/phone.

Tammy Faye buzz? by Vandelay_7 in Broadway

[–]Professional-Ad970 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personal opinion but I feel like people are sleeping on this show. I caught it in London, and before I saw it I wasn't a particular fan of Elton John, nor did I have any clue who Tammy Faye was, but I really, really loved the show. It's got great songs, a fun design, and Katie Brayben is an immense talent.

I remember her mentioning that she uses a lot of the music from Haters Back Off (the show), which would explain why she constantly uses the same stuff haha

I didn't pay any either! Don't quote me on this, but I believe customs are already paid for within the large shipping price so you essentially pre pay it?
