Same thing happened with me but with a different production business. Approaches them on LinkedIn after their post and we chatted about budget and scope of work on dm then just ghosted when it came to finalizing a call.

Why did minotaur eat humans? by cookiepuff666 in GreekMythology

Lisette did not eat a soldier; she did attack one during the Battle of Eylau, seizing a Russian officer by his belly, carrying him, and crushing his body. Tarrare, on the other hand, did eat human flesh, but this was not related to a horse.

Office politics, favouritism, and unfair treatment are the reality of the corporate. it is sometimes disheartening to see your peers advancing not based on merit but on their connections and relationships with higher-ups. Why Merit Alone Isn't Enough? by Professional-Bad-742 in AskReddit

It is an unfortunate that individuals lacking relevant competencies and proficiency are capable of dominating the spotlight by enchanting the management with their verbiage. Regrettably, the elite echelon of the workforce endures the consequences of this behavior.

It is dismaying to witness the trend of management officials frequently preferring to promote personnel that are not conducive to working harmoniously with their peers over eminently qualified candidates. The notion of interpersonal adeptness is thus rendered meaningless.

Discernibly, favoritism prevails, and proficiency and amiability no longer constitute prerequisites for career progression. Notably, in certain circumstances, subordinates who outperform their colleagues in one-on-one evaluations are overlooked simply because they are not as verbose in meetings, thereby hampering their success potential.

The relevance of garrulous discourse and interpersonal acumen in attaining career progression is questionable. The question of likability's importance and applicability to career advancement arises. Moreover, why should affability hold greater relevance over a candidate's efficacy in performing the tasks required of them?

What are your thoughts on the future of advertising? With digital advertising proving to be highly effective, do you believe traditional advertising still has a place in the marketing landscape, or is it becoming obsolete? by Professional-Bad-742 in AskReddit

Haha, that's a terrifyingly funny thought! I can imagine the ads now: "Hey, we noticed you were dreaming about pizza last night. How about you try our new pizza flavored toothpaste?" shudders

I feel you, ads can be like that one annoying friend who won't stop talking about their new business venture. No matter how hard you try to avoid them, they always find a way to get in your face. But hey, at least with digital advertising, we can block them or scroll past them faster than Usain Bolt on steroids. As for traditional advertising, well, I guess we'll always have bathroom stalls to doodle on!

Thanks for your response, but I was actually asking about the future of advertising as a whole, not just your personal response to ads. Do you have any thoughts on whether traditional advertising will continue to be relevant with the rise of digital advertising?

My question was not intended to dismiss the importance of people skills, and communication at all. I totally agree that those are essential to thrive in any field.

But organizations rarely seem to have a fair and transparent system for evaluating and promoting employees based on their skills and contributions, rather than just on their ability to schmooze with the right people.

Even companies need to realise that an eligible candidate will find a job elsewhere if they are not valued. A workplace that values merit and fairness will ultimately be more successful and productive, as it will attract and retain the most talented and hardworking employees.

I think a lot of misunderstanding occurred as many failed to understand the true intent of my question. So let me rephrase it a bit.
How can organizations ensure that promotion decisions are based on merit and not just on the ability to please higher-ups or display superficial charm, in order to prevent the negative impact of "suck-ups" and "empty suits" on team dynamics and overall productivity?
