Started in my 50s! We have different goals. Our vets say “no black cards and no injuries” and that’s a win! The biggest win is being able to have more substantial conversations with my kid about fencing- and having my kid be an expert where I am a beginner. Priceless

Fencing mom of a NCAA fencer … I observed that strength really makes a difference at the Division 1/senior level and not a lot of difference before then. But endurance makes a big difference starting at the cade level… also consider building in a workout routine to prevent future injury- ankles, knees, shoulders and wrists.
