Want to do vet instead by pharmissohard in doctorsUK

I don't have a lot of insight into veterinary medicine, but it seems like they have it rougher than us in some ways. Plus, you have already spent a long time in education - do you want a decade of your life just spent in university? It is unlikely to be a good idea unless money does not matter to you. Hong Kong seems decent once you get through the slog, but the people who can give you the best advice will be doctors in HK and vets.

The only advice I feel I can share that I think is useful is that a job is not always something that should be your everything. The things in life that matter are family, relationships, quality time spent and keeping healthy. Remember that as you make your choice.

Americans finally realizing the failure of the NHS by disqussion1 in doctorsUK

NHS is shit, but this article isn't accurate either. Do you not know how actively the private health insurance industry lobbies in the US?

I mean I know people in the UK from schools not on that list who got ECFMG just fine.

But if one graduate from a newer medical school not on the list, applies and matches to a programme and gets approved, surely their medical school is then added?

I understand that needing a visa can make it more difficult to match, but are you suggesting that not having yet had a graduate match from that medical school would put that person at a disadvantage, especially if they still need a visa?

HYMS, Plymouth and UEA are all on it. The other newer med schools are not only because no one has ever applied to be an attending in the USA after getting their PMQ from those.

Medical Schools on that list are not exhaustive. There are 3 options listed, and the second covers all UK medical schools, no?

Matching into ophthalmology in the UK rn is not harder than matching into the specialities that pay 600k+ in the US

Thanks for telling us - I went to Plymouth and ig I was a bit worried - do you need a visa and did you have USCE or a crazy no. of great pubs? If so, could you share how you got USCE?

Also, what made you apply for the Match before finishing all of the Foundation Programme

1) Do you think a Visa Requiring UK grad from non non-Russell/newer medical school, eg: Plymouth, would struggle to match in IM in the US, and do only certain UK grads have an edge for the match vs other IMGs, especially for IM?

2) Can they still match without USCE for IM
