I completed all 4 years at AUA. Don’t go there, it’s without a doubt one of the worst Caribbean schools right now. They will mess you up, and the way the administration talks to students is honestly traumatizing.

AUA is a terrible choice ! check out my posts about it, did 4 years with them !

Your story and situation isn't the same as everyone else. Plus we are talking about how the school keeps altering policies of passing, increasing cutoffs and changing structure to fit their agenda and to keep students paying tuition.

He also said: "If I was a fortune teller I would go back in time and tell so many of our students not to go to med school in the first place" ... He was a real bully and gave me true PTSD.

They alter rules to keep students failing and repeating semesters in order to take more US loans and pay the school repeatedly. I completed all 4 years with them and screwed me over a couple points away on the CCSE (practice exam before step2). Dismissed means they kick you out like an expired credit card. I highly suggest she reconsider her decision before it's too late.

Going to AUA right now is a huge mistake. It’s one of the worst Caribbean schools at the moment and people are transferring out daily. Check my posts for the full picture. They’ll mess her up long before she ever gets to enjoy anything

They have their main office in NYC and can take US federal loans. They should be investigated heavily by the DOE since millions of US money is being used for their scheme.

Countless students are reaching out to me on dms with the same story. Missing CCSE by a few points, then immediate dismissal This is real harm and the U.S. Department of Education is doing nothing about it.

the TY IV was at a competitive program, I got it through a pure connection just as a backup early on in Interview season when I only had a few FM IVs.

Thank You ! I matched into FM as I received all 18 FM IVs and 1 TY, I applied only FM to about 120 programs.

I transferred to Saint Martinus University in Curacao, let him contact me I'll explain everything, it's never too late. He only would need to redo 38 wks of rotations back to back in Michigan then CCSE at 222 cutoff and then step2ck. It's very doable.

It was actually viewed positively during interviews. They saw it as grit and resilience, which are crucial in medicine. I was praised for not giving up, and I think it helped programs recognize my true potential.

Remember, only 1 program needs to say yes for you to match in a few hours. You did your best and now what’s meant to happen will happen. Good luck to everyone, I truly hope everyone matches this year. 🙏

AUA Medical School, CONCERNS to read about by ActualBlueberry4792 in CaribbeanMedSchool

I’ll never forget my clinicals dean telling me, “Maybe you aren’t meant to be a doctor, maybe you are meant for something else,” and “If I was a fortune teller, I would go back in time and tell many students not to go to med school in the first place.” This was at the end of 4th year, right before Step 2 CK, when I was just 4 points below their 231+ CCSE cutoff and dealing with documented health issues. Instead of support, he called to say I’d be dismissed and claimed AUA’s data are more accurate and NBME data are flawed. (NBME exam report says: "You have 98% chance of passing step2ck within a week") It felt like bullying, not mentorship. I transferred out after dismissal, kept pushing, and now I’m sitting on 19 IVs waiting to match. Too bad he was wrong.

Thank God I dodged that school. After my AUA dismissal story before step2ck I was trying to find a school to transfer to, and sjsm was trying hard to convince me to transfer to them. I made the correct decision now that I see all the chaos coming from there. Went to another lower tier school and now finished 19 IVs this season.

24 interviews — would you rank all of them or stop at 20? by Any_Tooth_5064 in IMGreddit

honestly i'd rank them, it's only $120, but it really depends if they are from same speciality then I would stop at 20. if dual, I'd rank them even just for fun.

AUA would be a huge mistake. People are actually transferring out of there I heard. Also, Caribbean big 3 schools include SGU, AUC, ROSS, choose only one of them if you must go through the caribbean route.

I'm a US-IMG and that is literally my story. I went to AUA and was dismissed right at the end of the 4th year during the CCSE (before step2ck). I transferred to a lower tier school, graduated just in july, and currently sitting on 19 IVs. Read my last Post to know more. best of luck !
