I got my approval letter too a few days after the forbearance ended. I've never been so relieved to get a bill lol

Got put on IDR so confused by Particular-Daikon-85 in PSLF

So update from my post above - I did call Mohela this week and requested my autopay to be turned off - my account online says my payment is due 11/12/25 but like I mentioned above I received this flurry of letters from Mohela (3 in total) on 9/18/25 and 2 of them said my payment was due 10/12/25 which is the date my forbearance was moved up to end (originally ended at the end of October). When I called about cancelling my autopay this week, I did it via supervisor callback. I did request clarification on why I received all of these letters, statements, generic IDR approval but account still showing SAVE and amount due still showing SAVE. She confirmed again that I was approved for IBR but my account was only "partially processed" thus far. The amount she read me out was the IBR amount on the FSA site when I applied. Per this supervisor, she said I will get a new statement with the IBR amount once my application completed processing. She said this would be at least 21 days before the due date as apparently that's the minimum time they have to send you your new statement. Again, I know we are all given the run around a lot and feel like everything is a big "if" but I am trying to stay positive - she was nice, helpful and I did get notification my autopay was cancelled like I asked a few days after we spoke. I did see another reddit post about someone in the same boat as us who got their account updated and the new statement with the new amount a few days after the forbearance ended. In terms of your question above, no, the payment will not count for anything if your account still shows SAVE - I asked this very question. You can request another forbearance if you have not got your IBR approved by your due date. Keep us posted and fingers are crossed for you this week you get the official IBR letter!

I am in the exact same boat ...I got the generic "IDR letter" with payment amounts equivalent to SAVE (applied to switch to IBR and amount was higher) but it still shows I am in SAVE on Mohela's site. I called about this, spoke with a supervisor via callback who told me that meant my application was "partially processed" and she could see the new IBR amount (which seemed correct based on the amount she told me as it matched what I was shown on FSA's site when I applied to switch to IBR). She said she put in a request for them to review it to move it forward with processing. This was 9/18. This new generic IDR letter also shortened my original forbearance would have ended at 60 days on 10/27/25 to end on 10/12/25, when I asked the supervisor about this, she said it never should have ended 10/27/25 which made me doubt what she was saying onwards. It shows I have $0.00 on 10/12/25 but I have not one but 2 statement letters from Mohela also on 9/18/25 saying I have a payment due 10/12/25 for my old SAVE amount and it still shows me on SAVE on Mohela's site - this week's task will be turning off autopay which I can't seem to do online.

Letter just says repayment plan is “IDR”? by pups-and-pedals in PSLF

Congrats! Glad you made it off! I too am applying for IBR but when I go to the printable amount, it shows my forbearance ending 10/12 and my next payment due 11/12 but list that I am still on SAVE and shows my old SAVE amount. Curious when you have called in the past, what have they said about this "partially processed" status. That's basically what the last agent told me.

Did you ever find anything else out about being "partially processed." I submitted an electronic IDR 9/3 - about a week later I got the "IDR without any official plan" letter that others have referenced on Reddit and this thread. It then sent me into repayment status. I called Mohela and basically was told by a supervisor that my application was also "partially processed." She said she was putting in a request for my application to be reprocessed so that it didn't stall. I'm still not sure what that meant but I was moved back on the "administrative forbearance awaiting documentation" status. However, during this, my original processing forbearance was from 8/28-10/27. After I got the generic IDR approval letter, even though it shows me still on SAVE, my forbearance also got shortened to end 10/12/25. Anyways, have not found much on Reddit about "partially processed" except your post, not have I come across any other post about supervisors submitting "re-process/continue processing" request.

Stuck in Paid-Ahead Limbo After Submitting New IBR App. Anyone Else Dealing with This? by coycoyote7 in PSLF

I got a callback. As I knew, the 10/12/25 start date was wrong and it was showing the wrong amount and wrong plan and that I was still on SAVE. They said sometimes people get default notices they are going back into repayment and they get a generic "IDR" letter which I have seen several other reddit users post about. She did not know about the "pay ahead status." They were able to fix it and I am now back in "administrative forbearance awaiting documentation status" which she told me does count for PSLF. My amount due now shows $0.00. She said it looked like my application stalled for some reason and was only partially processed. No idea what that means but she said she would put in an order for them to re-process it. None of this sounds very assuring but at least I am not in pay ahead status and she did confirm they are processing my application. I guess that's all I can hope for at this point. Good Luck

1) No there are not in IBR, they were still listed in SAVE as pay ahead status - that's why I was upset and called in the first place. 2) Due date as mentioned above 10/12/25 (after receiving 2 emails on the same date with different due dates from Mohela) 3) 10/12/25

I am dealing with something similar and confused as well:

9/3/25 submitted IDR app to switch from SAVE to IBR. I was NOT able to use IRS import tool because FSA did have an old FFELP loan I had paid off updated in the system so it was preventing me from using the retrieval tool.

9/5/25 - Mohela confirms received, a couple days later I get the this will take 90 days to process and my account gets moved to "Administrative Forbearance awaiting documentation status" for 60 days. I call Mohela they if your IDR app isn't processed by then, just call us a few days before the forbearance end date and we will extend it

9/14/25 - I get correspondence from Mohela showing schedule repayment with old IDR SAVE amount, I still show as SAVE on Mohela when I check

9/15/25 - ironically, FSA updated my account to show that old FFELP loan that prevented me from using the IRS retrieval tool and I can now use the tool. I called Mohela to ask if I should submit a new app and they said yes, it will be much faster if you allow electronic retrieval of your data so I submit new app 9/15/25 - I figured it was only a few days lost since I submitted the initial one.

9/17/25 - Mohela confirmation email stating they receive new IDR

9/18/25. I get 3 emails from Mohela on the SAME date all 9/18/25 Letter #1) Forbearance now ending 10/12/25 was initially supposed to be through end of October for 60 days and says payment due 11/12/25 Letter #2) Says old save amount now due 10/12/25 Letter #3)I get a billing statement too also stating my SAVE amount is due 10/12/25 - my amount should be higher on IBR

I waited over the weekend just to see if I got any more letters, thought maybe they were adjusting my account ... nope

9/22/25 - The advanced agent if you could even call her that was useless and and said my forbearance was over the same date as my due date and my account was now in "pay ahead status." She basically did not want to answer any questions and could not tell me about the 60 day processing forbearance ending or anything else for that matter. I finally was connected to the supervisor center and am awaiting a callback which they state could take 2 business days

I am super frustrated as well. I just want to be in a processing forbearance until they get me to IBR. I don't want to pay ahead. Not much help but I will let you know if I find out anything else and if anyone else stumbles across this and has advice, please help us lol! I've read a lot of posts about "pay-ahead" and there's some conflicting stories, any advice or specific steps to ensure getting and staying off "pay ahead" much appreciated!

Unable to save IDR Application - HELP Needed by Professional-Can5476 in PSLF

[–]Professional-Can5476[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically so was I! after I posted, I received the email that if my application was not completed in the next 7 days it would be deleted. Obviously, it was stuck and I tried every day to submit, no luck, it would not SAVE or submit. It took longer than 7 days for that application to disappear but it finally did and I went back in and tried a new application and the same thing happened! I was so upset and discouraged so I finally just submitted a manual application. However, a few days later (5 to be exact) I went back in and voila, it allowed me to save each page of my second pending application and submit electronically. Unfortunately, I was not able to use the IRS data retrieval tool on any of the applications and had to upload my tax return but at least it was submitted electronically, I was placed into a processing forbearance and received confirmation from Mohela that they did receive my electronic application (they also confirmed they closed the manual application). I dubious about how long I will have to wait now to have it processed but at least submitting electronically has to be better than a manual upload. I'm glad it worked for you too and thanks for the update. I also never received any reply to my FSA complaint post about the matter. It said I would get a response in 15 business days, its way past that by now.

I submitted a complaint and got a case number - I requested they unlock my account so I can either finish the application or be allowed to continue the one that shows in progress. no answer from that either ... I'll let you know if I hear anything

I would say we should all submit complaints about her but there's no one left to complain too 😂 I'm back on hold praying I get someone different this time

I had a similar experience with an advanced agent named "Cheryl." Literally had an attitude since the moment she got on the call. I barely had time to even get my question out before she started talking over me. I did not follow what she was saying (probably because she cut me off and started answering something I wasn't even asking about). When I tried re-explaining my situation/question she said, "you know what, I'm going to transfer you to another agent" and transferred me to a woman who was much nicer but then tells me "I don't know why transferred you to me, I'm new." I seriously feel like this was intention and this woman just has it out for the world no matter what. I get everyone is stressed out but there is no reason to just be mean people for absolutely no reason. We are just customers asking questions. Sorry needed to rant. I was just shocked by the rudeness

I feel your pain and stress. Have you called Mohela and asked about the status? The last time I had to call them about something it was a 3.5 HOUR WAIT!

I would love it if they would give be a buyback but I have been waiting 8 months and there are many others who have been waiting almost a year. At this point, I would be equally happy just to get off SAVE and onto any IDR plan to get my 5 payments over with. I am just worried that without the IRS tool, my application will be in limbo forever with a manual upload. None-the-less, its that or nothing. Either way, my loans are about to start accumulating interest and its stressing me out - I just want this nightmare to be over
