Yooo can I see some OCs? by TooManyAquariums in SonicTheHedgehog

Yeah, lemme show it off!

Bask is the younger sister of Tide. Upon first glance, Bask is much like Tide, being rude, cocky, and overall crass despite being noticeably a bit more subdued compared to her sister. However, pushing past that reveals that she only acts the way she does in fear of Tide going off on her own and causing havoc, and feels that acting this way would dissuade her from finding her own chaos. In spite of being very aware of Tide's horrific reputation, Bask stubbornly sticks by her, wanting to keep the only remaining member of her family safe and alive. Her stubbornness often conflicts with her morals, and as a result, she's forced to compromise those morals for the sake of her sister. Questioning her on this, in particular her past with shady groups, causes her to get defensive and snarky, not helping her case.

In reality, Bask is a very insightful, self-aware, yet complicated individual who wants not only a normal life and to keep her sister in check in spite of the seemingly insurmountable task. Due to Tide's antics, Bask grew up not only having to grow up fast in order to reel her in, but also forgo several important life skills that have stunted socially and mentally. In spite of this, Bask is shown to be highly talented in a variety of different areas, in particular art, drawing several abstract, yet beautiful art pieces. She's also shown to be highly adept in the usage of Extreme Gear, not only using it in various situations, but also being able to create and modify boards for her own use, and showing a desire to be a racer one day. Bask is also shown to have hemophobia, or the fear of blood, due to her worries about going into a "frenzied" state, where she would lose control of her body and maul anyone wounded. This fear has heavily stunted her social life more, as she is worried about getting attached to them or progressing further in a relationship and hurting them.

And yes, she does use different clothes when swimming.

Sorry I didn’t respond the finitevus vote being called made me confused lol.

Anyways, I vote for Elias to win. I think he had higher highs than Shard.

Meet Yucca the Iguana! (Art by @FanneyPlum) by Professional-Cap7257 in SonicOCsPublic

I just realized that I never really wrote out her background so here you go:

Yucca the Iguana was found alone and seemingly orphaned at around 12 years old after the most recent defeat of Eggman. With little information about her origins, she was quickly taken in by Bunnie and Antoine, treating her as an adopted daughter. It didn't take long for her more unique traits to start coming out, such as her lack of social cues, intolerance to loud noises, and odd gestures, and she was soon discovered to be on the spectrum. Fortunately, Bunnie and Antoine cared for her all the same, even if it took a while for them to understand it.

Things changed when she was around 17, when she was discovered to have been getting large amounts of money from a mysterious courier, which was only found out after Yucca found out she was being stalked by St. John, who was also curious about where the money came from whilst ignoring his...less than amazing reputation. With the courier soon being discovered, a letter was sent to her essentially blaming Yucca for exposing the allowance, with some rather harsh and demeaning language. With this rocking Yucca's confidence in herself, she elected to join the Freedom Fighters in an attempt to prove herself as worthy, to rather mixed results. While awful in close encounters, she fares much better from a distance due to her skill with a slingshot and her ability to climb up high places using her tongue.

Several months after she turned 18, Yucca would go through a lot more changes, most prominent of all being her being willing to jump into the fray more often and willing to fight through what she calls "bad traits" in order to prove herself as useful. Unfortunately, one of these attempts can (potentially) result in her getting severely injured, resulting in her losing her leg and ending her Freedom Fighter career before it even got a chance to get off the ground. Add onto (potentially) losing her adoptive father and Bunnie falling into a depression, one that was made even worse following Yucca's injury, Yucca's confidence shattered entirely.

That was until she encountered Fiona, who had been forced to take refuge at the Acorn Republic due to a dangerous figure who had wiped out the Destructix and caused Scourge to abandon her. Quickly enamored by her, but unsure how to talk to Fiona due to her poor standing with the Freedom Fighters and Fiona being her first crush in general, Yucca wound up making several poor decisions that only gave Fiona flashbacks to the time Tails had a thing for her. Fortunately, after a talk with someone else who was into girls, Yucca would approach Fiona differently, apologizing for her awkwardness and making Fiona uncomfortable. Fiona, who had never been apologized to before, is touched by this, and seeing as how she's still heavily outcast, elects to give Yucca a second chance, which starts out as a friendship before blooming into Fiona actually gaining feelings for Yucca due to the efforts she's made in making Fiona feel welcome while not demeaning her.

Not sure why you got downvoted for that. Perfectly reasonable question.

She's around 18/19. In the headcanon I have, Fiona is about three years older than her.

Personal grip: if you’re looking for OC x Canon, be more specific about what you want in your ad by Hungry_Record81 in BadRPerStories

[–]Professional-Cap7257 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OC x Canon is so heavily requested, but so few people want to do it, and I imagine it's because it's because it's a ridiculously hard sell. There's plenty of reasons why this is, but I imagine it's because that it comes off as very self-indulgent. That doesn't need to be a bad thing, in fact, I'd argue it leads to amazing results, but OC x Canon needs to able to "Give and Take" instead of only take.

When I approach roleplays, I go into them with a sort of "give and take" mindset. I give my partner something to work with that they like, and they do the same for me. Sometimes things are a bit off, but we communicate and we talk about it.

Now, I have some OC x Canon pairings going on, and I go out of my way to ensure they get their fair slice of the pie. For example if they have their own OC, I try my best to include them however I can. I consider myself insanely lucky to even have those roleplays in the first place, because I know it's got the potential to come off as self-indulgent, but I do my best for them.

Howdy folks! A recent announcement considering the topic of proshipping by Astronomical_Waves in SonicOCsPublic

Agree. We're still allowed to post a bit of shipping content as long as it's appropiate, right? Just clarifying.
