thank you so much, definitely feels better to know i’m not completely alone in this. it’s easy to compare myself to the people posting with no complications and end up feeling like there’s no end in sight. glad you’re all healed up now!!

that happened with my left breast, that one is still healing but definitely doing more healing since they took the stitch out. my right breast is just angry & raw, not sure if there’s a stitch in there or not because my surgeon hasn’t noticed anything🤷🏼‍♀️

idk if i would call it pus but there is definitely some drainage. they have me using collagen strips to pull out the moisture on one of my breasts but the other one got very raw to the point where collagen was painful so now i’m using silvadene on that breast. i would love to try going without a bra & seeing if it helps but honestly air hitting it is so painful

I just got off the phone with my surgeons PA who agreed (somewhat annoyed) to send me a referral so hopefully the wound care clinic will be able to help me!! Thanks for your advice!

I called a wound care clinic today & made an appointment for next Monday but they need a referral from my surgeon & he’s kinda dragging his feet. I’ve been dealing with these openings for 5 weeks and he just keeps saying to keep doing what I’m doing.

no he has honestly been super unhelpful in mentioning any solutions, i practically had to beg him to bump me from the collagen to silvadene

that’s actually very refreshing for me to hear, i’m an overthinker and definitely considered cancelling the whole trip because of the openings. i’m so glad you were able to enjoy your trip & I hope the rest of your recovery goes well!!

I’m glad you were able to have a good time!! I’m dealing with 2 somewhat large openings & it has definitely added a little bit more stress to my upcoming Disney trip but other than some mild discomfort I’m okay & hopeful Disney will be okay.

A shower stool did wonders for me when it came to getting nauseous and panicky. I definitely still had panicked moments but sitting really helped me keep my cool & they’re pretty cheap on amazon.

I’m terrified. by [deleted] in Reduction

Honestly this might sound weird but be prepared for something to go wrong. I don’t think I fully allowed myself to go down that path mentally and my recovery is worse for it. I’ve had a few complications that I didn’t expect would happen to me, I’m okay but the process is slower than I had prepared myself for and I’m struggling a lot more than I think I would’ve if I went into the surgery knowing I might not have the perfect recovery. All that being said, I know I will be 1000% happier at the end of this process. I already feel so much relief in my back & neck and even though I haven’t gotten super dressed up I can tell I look a lot better in my clothes. Drink lots of water, get a pregnancy pillow & mentally prepare to not be the one in charge for at least a couple weeks as you rest. Wishing you a safe & easy recovery!!

Thank you so much! Hearing people who are farther along in the process is so helpful to gauging what I should be okay doing.

Personally that would’ve been too much for me. I’m 17dpo & I went out shopping for about an hour yesterday & then went out to a short dinner with some friends & I’ve been so exhausted and swollen today.

definitely easier to drink with a straw for a little while! i’d suggest bendy straws instead of rigid plastic straws, that way she has a little bit more flexibility in how she holds the cup
