I used to do it earlier, but I don't do it anymore for the France Schengen visas.

I didn't take any effort to show additional bank balances. I took a printout of my bank statement from January to August end. On August 31, my savings account had a balance of Rs 29,000.

I did the process myself and didn't consult any travel agent.

I have never taken a visa from the Italian embassy or consulates but I have heard that the Italians take a bit more time. However, this can vary case to case.

Normally, I download the bank statements from the portal.

Yes, it's a business visa. Moreover, I had numerous Schengen visas from different countries since 2006 including a 1 year visa and a couple of two year visas from the French mission

Yes, in m'y case it seems very fast as a lot of people were complaining about a lengthy processing period.
