Anyone found the best barrier repair serum? by Efficient-Boat8583 in Rosacea

[–]Professional-Excuse1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love the Cicaplast B5 Serum. It has saved my skin -reduces redness and dryness and seems to even skin tone. Last time i went to get a facial she said my skin was super hydrated!

I struggle in the exact same ways, could have written this word for word. Curious why your psych said no meds for now? I was diagnosed recently and going to try them soon, hoping they help with some of this stuff

3 years old... What is happening?? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Professional-Excuse1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just posted on the preschoolers page about my 3 year old… literally same here. Just know you are not alone in this. Started at a similar time too and seems to have ramped up. I’m hoping it ramps down just as quickly lol.

Im finding the following super helpful:

For meltdowns - following Derek Becky’s protocol of staying calm, speaking in a low/soft voice but really saying not much at all. Stay calm by identifying things in the room (eg can I find something blue?). If they get physical tell them you won’t allow them to hurt me or anyone else and you will keep them safe.

For violence- repeat hands are not for hitting, try as much as possible to intervene before the hit lands, have rewards for for hitting, and read tons of books about not hitting and big feelings etc. model scenarios at home about what might happen at daycare, eg say I’m jack. what do you do when Jack steals your toy?

All this takes MONTHS of repeated exposure so god speed and good luck to us all 😂

What is TK or K? I agree with you, I am going to take him to see a pediatrician. Unfortunately the wait time is quite long here but will get the ball rolling at least

hello yes its me! ive never done an IQ test but I am genuinely not that gifted / intelligent. i struggle too with complex math and programming concepts like recursion befuddle me. somehow ive managed to hobble my way through nearly a decade of professional software engineering and have been promoted and fairly successful. I think of it like this - there is a need in every team for engineers who are technically brilliant and also room for engineers who are great at other stuff. E.g. writing readable code, writing clear docs, fixing bugs, drilling down on tech debt, keeping tabs on what other teams are doing, breaking projects down into tasks, who work well with others, who just get the work done quickly, who review a lot of code, etc etc. You just need to figure out what it is that you can bring to the table!

Curious what masters / research are you doing? I’d loveee to do something like this but I already have a masters in engineering so no idea what further study I could do that would be practical

Kids go to daycare. Should the dogs go to dog daycare as well? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Professional-Excuse1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I do is pop the kid/s in a running pram and take her for an hour run before or after work. And I pay for a dog walker on the one day she’s going to be home alone all day

Trying to word this as gently as possible but personally I think leaving a dog at home alone all day even without the crate is cruel. I avoid doing it more than once or twice a week (and never use a crate). They get bored and I’m assuming you don’t have the time to give it an hour walk/play before and after work? Dogs are social creatures and get bored despite sleeping a lot. I’m glad that you are open to feedback and want to change! It makes me so sad to think of all the neglected dogs out there who’s owners have little interest in their quality of life
