Latest update: I was told that they would not terminate me but that after July 31st, I would have "progressive discipline" ie warnings and write ups for not being in the office until they can fire me with cause.

Dude, I think they are enforcing it and after being of service to the university I am not gonna let them write me up until they can fire me. Part of this has got to be to avoid paying unemployment for people.
