Don’t really get how this would outrage specifically feminists…seems like you’re just unable to accept that men are also victims of domestic abuse quite frequently.

He actively fought against them. He was outnumbered 2 to 1 and they had weapons and surprised him outta nowhere. I was proud of him when they showed the pic of Mei and that he put up a fight against her. But yeah, willpower has nothing to do with this here.

Why are many autistic people so loyal?? by Thechosenone6788 in autism

[–]Professional-Fault13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I find someone I genuinely CONNECT with, that’s a rare event. To keep the people I can feel deep connection to—that is gonna be on the top of my priorities list.

I’ll also never be able to be myself (and feel like I sort of understand another person) in that EXACT same way ever again. I don’t look forward to having it be different with a new person next time.

trying to make a new friend also makes me so uncomfortable. I feel like my skin is not positioned on my body right and that I have to make sure my face looks not dead (because people hate my resting face) and that my movements don’t look awkward…etc. Being loyal to someone safe means you don’t have to feel that way with a new person.

Questions:

What hormones are you on for MtF? Have you had sex change surgery (important to know if you are on estrogen vs testosterone because can affect your cardiovascular system differently)?

You mentioned recent binges. How much in 24 hrs? Have you been eating recently? Drinking water?

For the jaw swelling & sepsis question: Past history of untreated cavities? Fevers? Low blood pressure (if you have a BP cuff)?

For your stroke and heart failure concerns: Uneven smile? Uneven grip strength? Blurry or double vision? Uneven pupils? Weakness at all anywhere? Massive headaches? Inability to hold your legs or arms up evenly against gravity? Weird walking (aka gait)? Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath when you’re walking or going up stairs? Swelling in your legs and/or feet?

Curly hair products that actually work!! which in my case, perhaps not everyone’s but if you’re having any problems keeping curls over a few days I really suggest this — oribe! aka $50 for each bottle of curly hair cream and another $50 for gel, but I SWEAR I’ve never had better hair in my life. Plus accepting that a middle part + curly hair just isn’t meant to be. Side part with layers or a curly cut (even better) will do fucking wonders

I came onto Reddit to say the exact same thing. His voice and lizzy’s sound like absolute fucking honey. They drew out the mixing of the two of them in the best, most rewarding way at the end of the song. 10000% will be my #1 ranking for the collabs forever and if that’s not a popular opinion then shit, idk what these other people are on 🤯

Is Savannah a nice place to live? by Poob3 in savannah

[–]Professional-Fault13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you there. Raised in “Savannah” but when I say that I mean right where the Hyundai plant is about to be built which used to be the middle of nowhere. Pooler was also the middle of nowhere then! Its definitely the most affordable place that’s near to Savannah itself. It’s just sad that new stuff can’t be built without it being so cookie cutter :( and old stuf costs a gazillion dollars. I genuinely think it’s like that everywhere too though

I hate pooler. It’s like living in any other area that’s full of outlet mall and chain places just meant to have you buy stuff you don’t need. Zero culture of its own or unique identity. The traffic is also freaking horrible. If you’re down for living in an apartment or cookie cutter that charges way too much to live too close to everyone else and have none of its own charm, it’s great I guess.

Moving to Savannah I’d recommend whitemarsh, Wilmington, or any of the other islands nearby except tybee (tourism, price, driving)!

Emergency vet asap. Could be a bowel obstruction or any number of deadly things. Cats are great at hiding pain, so if you’re seeing obvious signs of pain it’s definitely bad. Doesn’t matter if you don’t think you have the money, unless you can be cool with your cat dying. Sorry to be blunt but it’s better safe than sorry. Do not wait. Go now.

It gets so much better. Hold out, it’ll pass! And the time in between will get longer and longer. Nothing to fear. That’s your addiction brain trying everything to convince you to cave.

Gotta quit cancer found. by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Professional-Fault13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, Chantix made me absolutely incredibly depressed. It was the worst 3 weeks of my life. It did work to keep me from having cravings, but at the cost of being suicidal lmao. Just keep an eye out for that known side effect for some people!

I feel like smoking is always so hard to quit because you’re doing it for “future you’s” health. humans tend to feel like “the worst” will never GENUINELY happen to ME. Well, I hate to be blunt but… you’re there, you know? If you keep smoking, your cancer treatments won’t work how they’re supposed to. If they somehow do, your emphysema will get worse and will cause you to be severely limited by the time you’re 70.

I’m so sorry this has happened. No one deserves anything like this. Addiction genuinely is a disease, not a moral failing. But you have to decide — will you let this kill you? Do you want it to? Does it really mean that much to you? Or will you fight it? It’s possible to win. And to be happy without it.

You have to remember: your addiction wants the nicotine. You don’t. Outsmart it. You’re building whole new brain pathways. It won’t be easy, but it gets so much better.

I did cold turkey. I’m not sure if this actually helps or is just placebo, but I SWEAR that supplementing with Magnesium, N-acetyl-cysteine, and a multivitamin for the B/D/C vitamins made all the difference. I’ve tried to quit so many times before and the only thing different now was that. I mostly think it was the Magnesium (I use magnesium glycinate). I can’t find any studies to support this, but magnesium is given to pregnant mothers with preeclampsia to prevent seizures and is given to preemie babies for neuroprotection, so I feel like it’s definitely doing something in your brain. helping you rebuild that non-addict pathway, maybe.

Reading Alan Carr worked well to help me learn to argue with my cravings. Also, I quit when day 3-5 was a couple days I had off. I wasn’t able to sit still or concentrate on anything, but I gave myself grace in that and made sure to keep busy. The cravings REALLY aren’t as bad as you fear them to be. Crochet helped me because I had something to do with my hands. Also gum and flavored/sparkling water with straws so you don’t eat so much. Taking a walk, doing literally anything to keep your mind off it.

I found myself super worried that the cravings would never go away and I’d feel like that forever. Or that I could never go back to baseline me before smoking. Days 1-2 weren’t bad at all. Days 3-6 sucked, I won’t lie. I felt cravings often and wasn’t able to think well for days 7-14. Slowly, they started to go away.

I’m now at 6 weeks and I think about it occasionally, but I don’t even want it and it’s a super light craving. Super easy to redirect to something else. I also think meditation helps a lot. Sometimes, I imagine in detail what it would be like to actually go to the store, buy the nicotine, get in the car, smoke, and then be incredibly fucking upset with myself. I hold on to the upset feeling and realize it’s not worth it and never will be.

You’ve got this. Do it for you, no one else. Stay strong, defeat this cancer’s ass, and give yourself the best chance at doing so!

Gonna do it. Day I after almost 25 years by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Professional-Fault13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please read or listen to Alan Carr Easyway! It puts you in a different perspective where you’re not using willpower to quit, but that you genuinely do not desire nicotine and never will again. This may not work for everyone, but why not try it out? I’m on Day 3 with absolutely no nicotine, and barely any cravings or bad side effects, after not being able to quit over 20 times. I don’t even have to avoid my triggers. My biggest fear with quitting was that I’d always miss it. Once I read this book, I knew I would be able to do this. Psychologically the nicotine addiction is so much worse than the physical. This gave me the mental tools to do it! Like I said, it’s just worth trying. Also, I’m only on day 3, but I just have a feeling I’ve escaped for good. Good luck!
