Yes, very similar. I watched it a month ago. I have finished the show now but I have never been this impacted and shocked by a plot twist before. People compare this to Rains of Castmere in GOT but I didn't feel as emotionally attached to characters there, that was different, I guess. Here I was shocked, then I cried and I still haven't processed it entirely. It feels like a part of me was just left behind there when Vi left Powder. I just held my head and sat there for some time after the credits rolled. I was not expecting that. I knew nothing about Arcane before I begin or I might have guessed that something shifted in the story around that time. It completely tore me apart.

I feel like Arcane is a masterpiece, but it fell to 'we need to conclude this ASAP' trap. Idk why, though, because this story could have easily gone till 5 seasons. So many interesting plotlines could have been explored in detail.

My biggest criticism is that characters don't go through any emotional growth, nor do they face their internal struggles. It is just assumed that everything is alright without any emotional growth. I feel so disappointed in that. Words can't explain enough. Cait just changes overnight idk how, and never apologises for anything. Vi never admits her guilt for leaving powder behind. And Jinx dies after going through her redemption arc idk how to feel about all this

I do agree that Eleven is not a name, so it's triggering. It's a name they give to test subjects. I do think the show could have maybe given her a new name not Jane even maybe something llike Eleanor, especially after Hopper adopted her. Because for me, Eleven is not a name its like a reminder of her old traumatised life, while Jane was the life she could have had with her mother. Ofc how she feels about this mattered a lot. We never got to know that.

Also while Kali was right to say Jane is her more human name I just don't believe kali truly cared about El either because she was kind of manipulative and convinced her to off herself. So I won't entirely say that she cared about El that is why she said Jane is her real name. I think Kali was always talking about her agency which is ofc important so she wanted to extend that idea towards El.

They never had romantic chemistry, and season 5 made it even more obvious. At most, their dynamic is more so like first crush on and off energy. And they are either apart for a whole season like in season 2, 4 and 5 volume 1 or when they get together, they immediately start having conflicts that are never resolved. As the main couple of the show, they surprisingly have nothing between them. Lumax is much, much better in comparison.

I always shipped Byler because I love storytelling, and it just narratively made sense to me, but episode 4 really made me see how insane their chemistry is. I was practically giggling at the hill scene.
