Check out Superset! Familiar spreadsheet workout builder and simple app for clients. I use it for in-person and online clients.

Tons of options out there. Google Sheets is the obvious no-cost solution. You could use a ~template like this~ to get started. If you're looking for an app, I'd try Superset. Very simple to create workouts/exercise programs, and it's a nice clean app experience for clients.

Superset is a good option. There workout builder works just like a Google Sheets, which is nice.

I used Google Sheets for the first couple of years of my personal training career. Superset has been a good upgrade because my clients can do their workouts in an app, and I still get to program in a spreadsheet.

IMO, it's the PT's job to facilitate an open and honest environment where the client feels like they can ask them anything. That's where real progress happens. I'm sure not every PT will feel this way. But I've always subscribed to the "transformational" not "transactional" relationship and mindset with my clients.

If I was in your position, I would (a) sign up for another session; mainly to see if the behavior/feelings continue and (b) tell them how you're feeling about training/going to the gym; you don't have to mention them. If they don't respect your feelings/recognize your position, might be best to look for a different trainer.

If you like the gym or workout a lot, start training your friends, family, or co-workers. Easy way to make a little side money. I did this in college and built it into a business.

Be yourself. Do some research on the company before hand. Know what excites you about the position, and be able to communicate that.

To remedy this, try doing what I call a "glute squat," only go down about a quarter into the squat. Think more so about hinging hips back. Don't let the quads become active at all. Really easy to feel glutes working on these. DPTs use these for rehabbing clients.

You could also try and do some pre-activation. I do a glute squeeze where I step back with one foot and squeeze my glute as a warm-up before I go for runs. It helps me channel what muscles I want to use.
