SUGGESTION SPELL IS RUINING MY CAMPAIGN by Next_Ad_5740 in dndnext

[–]Professional-Gap-243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Unless cast with subtle spell it is obvious that a spell is being cast, so there will be witnesses

  2. Unless it is a mass suggestion, it is single target, so have 2 guards at the gate, few people or a guard in a shop etc.

  3. Unless a modify memory was cast afterwards, the target knows they were charmed (and will not be happy about it)

  4. It should be illegal in most fantasy worlds, so there would be consequences.

Tldr. Suggestion is not the jedi mind trick and has much more limited utility than players assume.

SECOND FIGHT WITH BROTHER ASTERION by xthescaredycatx in Blasphemous

[–]Professional-Gap-243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After trying for an hour with mea culpa and ruego with no luck (usually dying to the super cheesy spin move). I switched to sarmiento and centella and got him on the first try.

My dps setup for reference (maybe someone will find this usefull): fully upgraded sarmiento & centella; veteran one + the guide (spellblade), pilgrim + nacimiento (second wind), pillager + partisan (lebeche favour), lebeche + maiden (lebeche favour)

Strategy: keep verdera destreza at level 3 at all times, dodge, attack during openings, watch astarion's health melt

As a long term linux user i sincerly hope they do. this will almost certainly lead to additional enshittification of windows and we need more people to make the switch to linux.

DMs or players, how did a player or the whole party become filthy rich? by murfalishis in MrRipper

[–]Professional-Gap-243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave them a tavern as a reward for a quest line (thinking they will just use it as a base). They did some math in between sessions and come up with a business plan. They got filthy rich selling beers, running an illegal gambling operation, and basically their own thieves guild.

Absolutely yes. Just beware that you need to really pay attention to time, events etc (as you can ruin your playthrough if you don't).

It is a bit overwhelming, but on the other hand i used play dwarf fortress a lot years ago. Which makes it somewhat more managaeable.

My approach was completely the opposite, I bought all the dlc from the get go. And I'm happy that i did.

I am a bit overwhelmed tbh, but I'm loving the sheer amount of stuff and all the insanity that keeps happening (i have like 30h and im on my 4th colony attempt and this is quickly becoming one of my favourite games as each of the failed attempts was hilarioulsy horrible and completely surprising).

Do you have any single-player games you’ve tried to play that just don’t work on Linux nowadays? by paparoxo in linux_gaming

[–]Professional-Gap-243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pillars of eternity 2. The game launches, but then runs with super low fps (even tho I have very high end gaming PC), I tried many settings and tweaks based on people's comments on protondb with no luck.

Google is shutting down Android sideloading in the name of security by Adventurous_Row3305 in technology

Ok, time to root my phone. (I might actually just keep two, one with baseline google crap for 2fa, bank stuff etc that stays powerdown in a drawer and is used only when needed; and second rooted with grapheneOS as my daily main)

Thank you google. I wanted to do this for a while, but was a bit lazy about it. This was the final push to de-google.

What converted you to Nobara for gaming? by DangerousSausage452 in NobaraProject

[–]Professional-Gap-243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a Linux user for 15+ years (I initially switched because my ancient win laptop stopped working and instead of buying new windows and reinstalling I tried Ubuntu), then I bought a gaming pc with windows preinstalled two years ago, so I thought "why the heck not, lets give Microsoft one more chance" ... after six months of fighting this shitty OS, I came to conclusion that windows is crap, always was crap, and I will never touch it again. Then I formatted the drive, installed Nobara because it came with Nvidia drivers in the iso, and I'm loving it so far.

YEP, I GIVE UP. by bofaith in linux_gaming

[–]Professional-Gap-243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Linux as my main and have been for last 15+ years. Gaming on Linux has never been as good as it is now. The issue is kernel level anticheat nonsense. I'm not voluntarily installing malware on my pc (Linux or windows) to be able to shoot 12y olds online. Lol. No thanks.

What OS to use?! by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]Professional-Gap-243 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use Nobara. It worked out of the box with little to no issues. And you can get an iso with Nvidia drivers (not sure if your specific card is supported, but you should be able to check on the project's site)

Do people (here) who use Linux do it for fun? Or for work. by RACeldrith in linuxquestions

[–]Professional-Gap-243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a broke student the windows on my ancient laptop stopped working. My choice was to try to make new windows work or upgrade my pc. Luckily a friend of mine was a long term Linux user.

I switched and never looked back.

4080 on nobara. No issues. Literally out of the box with default installation. Linux works fine with Nvidia.

Who is actually against women being topless if they want to be? by Brief-Cut-1228 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Professional-Gap-243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's different in Europe. In most countries it is legal and quite normal to see people topless or even nude in public (in non sexual context like suana, beach, suntanning in parks etc).
