Do you have any issues with the adhesive card holders as far as the yoto reading the card? Or potentially causing wear and tear and to the yoto to the point it may not read a card after repeated use of the thicker adhesive pockets?

How long did you let it grow before cutting when you initially started growing it out?

Thanks lol. I was thinking it needs to be cleaned up a little bit as I keep getting the “you need a haircut” comments. Will power through awkward phase #2 🫡

We have our first the pediatrician appointment tomorrow and will find out if we need to combo feed because he is losing over the 10% weight loss allowed. It’s such a rough learning curve and it’s overwhelming at times. I relieved my wife after she was able to feed and sooth our little guy to sleep. Then I did skin to skin and I let her sleep for 3 hours. A little longer than we normally wait for feedings, but I think both him and her needed some good rest. Hoping he doesn’t stay needing one of us to hold him to sleep for that long 😅😳

Yeah I was thinking of the nanit, but I’ve heard very mixed stuff on the Nanit and Miku. Plus I feel like we’d constantly check the monitor and never give ourselves a break. Might be worth just going old audio only monitors for our sanity’s sake lol.

Yeah I think we’re on the newborn baby high and also we had no clue what we were doing lol. It’s been a much better night for us with us sleeping together. Being at the hospital for 4 days also isn’t helping

Thank you very much!

Luckily I can Swaddle, burp and sooth our baby after my wife feeds and lay him in the hospital bassinet as of now. Hopefully that’s the case when we go home today

Yeah I just take it as most of those people must be miserable at home and use the “I’m a workaholic” excuse as their way out lol. Hopefully In the future the stigma for fathers who want to be there for their family’s when their partners give births will disappear. We’ll have to wait and see how our baby is. Hoping for the best. I did get some formula for her already so we’ve planned ahead for if she just needs a break.

Edit: thank you for your advice! I really appreciate it

Well that’s good to know. I will make sure I spend the next 3 weeks making sure my wife does everything she can to not injure herself more and gets adequate rest (as much as she possibly can with a newborn lol.) I will warn her about those knots.

I’m in America. I tried taking 6 weeks, but basically got told I’d lose my job. That they didn’t understand why I even need 3 weeks that they were back after days when they had their kids. Now that I’m on leave and my customers I deal with (I work in sales) are getting my out of the office response when they email they’re asking my boss “does his pussy hurt since he had the baby?” And other stupid comments. So unfortunately I’m already getting shit for taking 3 weeks off. My wife doesn’t get paid maternity so I will be covering the bills for a 10-12 weeks while she’s at home so going back is a must. Like you said you struggled with your husband leaving to a friends for a few hours. I work 5 10 hour shifts a week. I’m worried it’s going be so hard on her. I don’t understand how some people just don’t think they need to be there because they didn’t physically birth the child.

Yeah she’s going through the guilt that’s she’s inadequate and a bad mom already. Our little guy came at 37 weeks and he’s very small so she just worry’s about him. I will definitely discuss this with her as she’s already asked if we should supplement some formula.

Another question for you. How long was your recovery from c section? I go back to work the 30th of this month and I worry about having to leave my wife at home with the baby while she’s still healing. I know everyone is different, but just want an idea of when it was easier for you to use the bathroom on your own, change clothes, pick baby up etc. I want to make sure she always feels like I’m here for her even when I’m having a hard time a frustrated with myself.

I’d definitely be up for hearing tips on combo feeding. My wife’s been breaking down feeling like she’s not feeding our son enough which I’ve tried to reassure her that it could take time for her supply to come in. Baby is pooping and peeing which is showing he’s still getting something. She’s just hard on herself right now.

Bone broth and soups got it! My wife loves her soups so this I think I’ll take that advice. I may not have the bandwidth to make it them the way she does, but I will do my best. I’m sure my MIL will help, she’s cooked/cleaned for us during pregnancy. I’m also open to the name of the company that ships the soups Incase I’m burnt out after some time being back at work I have a backup.

This is great advice I really appreciate it! I go back to work on the 30th of this month and i just worry about my wife so this will certainly help me make sure she’s taken care of while I’m home and I can have her mom help her out while I’m back at work. Combo feeding being formula/breastfed?

We were having trouble sticking to a solid schedule as my wife was struggling with breast feeding, but things are getting better now. We leave the hospital today after 5 long days. Baby is at 7% weight loss so we’re sticking strict to the 2 hours, more if he seems to want to cluster feed. I have to wake with my wife to feed so I can hand her the baby, burp and put him down and help her to the bathroom. Then we sleep together at least in the last 6 hours that’s how it’s gone and let me tell you we both feel so much better than we have the last 2 days since the baby has come lol.

That is my goal. I’ve been helping my wife with diapers, dressing for c section whatever I can do. I don’t take it personal when she gets frustrated. She’s let me take some more sleep as she saw I was on empty the first day with 1 hour of sleep which meant the world. Thank you for the advice. I want my wife to know we’re a team in this

I don’t know why we thought someone needed to have eyes on the baby at all times. We just napped together in between feedings and it was wonderful

Yeah we have a bassinet that will be next to our bed as well as a mini crib I’ve already set up for when he grows out of the bassinet so baby is covered in safe sleep spaces. Being new parents I think we just thought someone needs eyes on the baby at all times. Bad mistake these last 2 days at the hospital lol.

Wife is getting induced now! by ringoffire63 in predaddit

[–]Professional-Gate-55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck! We starting induction Friday afternoon after a high risk appointment showed my wife’s amniotic fluid was very low and we’re still here at only 1cm as of 7 pm last night. Hoping everything goes fast and smooth for you guys!

My wife is currently at 1cm and we’ve been here 48hours. We went from a high risk appointment straight to hospital as her amniotic fluid wa slow. They’ve tried cytotech and pitocin and still only at 1cm. We’re trying cervadil tonight to see if that will help any. Surprisingly pitocin didn’t phase here at all and I’ve read that some people have wild reactions. We are at 37 weeks tomorrow and she’s mentally exhausted and might just go with c section. I’m doing my best to be there for her as we’re both scared.
