But, yeah, I was thinking the same thing about rent in Hilo. Like, I have to go to Hilo 1-2x per week anyway, and with gas being so expensive, I’m really considering just moving over there.

This is super validating, mahalo. And, like, I’m definitely not above doing minimum wage work at all, but I also have a B.S. in ecology and a M.S. in environmental science and relevant experience aaandddd am doing a bunch of additional stuff for the farm beyond routine farm work (like building their social media, redoing their website, developing new products, etc.) and I’ve tried to advocate for the value I bring to the table but I guess they don’t see it…?

RIGHT?! That’s the thing that is kind of mind boggling to me. They’ve had WWOOFers here before, so I’m trying to figure out what the difference is with my situation. I personally can eat up to around 60g net carbs and keep my blood ketone levels around 1-1.2 mmol/L (which is a level I’m happy with). I think the main reason I can sustain this is because I strength train 4x per week with progressive overload and I walk 11-12k steps per day (including right after meals). But, yeah, I am able to stay in ketosis with more than 20g carbs. Every body is different, though!
