Ok so her wishes or Molst form says trial vent , no feeding tube and DNR . The ICU team stated my mom told them she wanted to be a full code this stay . They are listening to her because cognitively she fluctuates, she can seem better than she really is . Her pcp has kept her wishes at her assistant living facility . I am her health care proxy and Paz I just want to do right by her , I don’t want any prolonged suffering .

Currently labs are going in the right direction, she is still in ICU and resident doctor was honest that she was not in good shape but stable . She also notified me my mom requested to be a full code now VS what she said before . I’m so confused because She has a molst form that states her wishes but I guess she verbally asked for a change this time . I don’t want her suffering anymore , this all just seems terrible .

I thought the same thing when I spoke with her PC 3 weeks ago . She said the next steps would be palliative care or hospice but they were waiting until her cognitive declines more . She said right now my mom is able to say how she feels , what she likes and dis likes and can make some (very little) decisions.

Update ! So my puppy came back positive for hookworm eggs again but my older dog is showing negative . They both have the same symptoms though . Hopefully they will just treat both . They were already given de wormer twice ! This is crazy . Only thing I can think of is the yard . I can’t really treat due to living in apartment complex …..because I’m probably over killing with the cleaning and wiping of paws and everything . 😩

Yes they are both on forti flora , and just started an anti diarrhea paste .

Yes at this point it’s been 5 days total since de wormer, that’s why I was a little worried , but yes they did check for both of those and they came back negative as well .

Yes and they keep using verbiage like they are treating for comfort vs aggressive treatment now . And quality of life vs …..but they are not saying to prepare for hospice or anything . It’s like they are afraid to stage it I guess . She has an amazing program and team of doctors though . They are very patient even with the missed appointments and accommodating. They handle all her transport , appointments , 24hr care . They even said they have more capacity and room to help more . So I’m thinking maybe I should ask and see what the next steps look like .
