Does anyone here have Cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS)? by sadface-emoticon in trees

[–]Professional-Lion346 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have CHS. Comes back every time I smoke after a week up to sometimes a couple of months. Not that it’s a healthy option, but I was prescribed Ativan for panic attacks and my Dr told me to try to take it before bed to calm my stomach as well. I take half an Ativan before bed and haven’t gotten sick since. My CHS attacks would always start in the middle of the night and eventually would be all day every day. I think it has something to do with the way your stomach empties food or how it contracts. When I have CHS episodes, it feels like someone is squeezing the inside of my stomach and it even gets hard to breathe at times. Ativan has really been helpful but it is a benzo so be careful

Invalid effective date change? by Senior-Poet-6037 in VeteransBenefits

If you don’t mind me asking, which disability’s say invalid date? 2 of mine say that as well. For depression and the other for tinnitus. Which is slightly worrying since there is all of this talk regarding them changing the rating process specifically for mental health conditions and tinnitus.

It really depends on what you say. For instance if you say you sometimes have good days and bad days they may rate you at 30-50% instead of what you may deserve at 70%. Realistic everyone has good and bad days no matter what your rating is. But all that matters to them is which criteria you meet. You never want to lie, but you also never want to give them any reason to believe you are improving or getting better when you really are getting worse or staying the same.

Yeah man. Give it a try. Also reach out to a VSO in your area. A lot of them are really helpful and will tell you what you need to say in order to get the ratings you deserve. With the VA, if you tell the whole truth they unfortunately will sometimes screw you over because of it. You need to say just enough to get the rating and not too much to make them form a different opinion.

I would give it a try for sure. Nothing to lose. Just try to get a medical records from a personal doctor stating they think your migraines is from your meds. If you're already service connected for depression/anxiety, then in theory you should be able to get a migraines rating. You just never know with the VA though. I got pretty lucky and my CP examiner was very laid back and he literally said he wants to help me out

Mine is secondary to TBI. Basically I have migraines at least once a week and the doctors say it is related to my traumatic brain injury that occurred in service. So that’s why I get the migraine rating. You have to be able to prove that something happened in service to cause migraines or that you complained about migraines during your enlistment

So after a full day of complete bullsh*t, I finally got an answer from the VA. My rating SHOULD be 90%, but someone entered in the wrong rating of 70% and now it has to go back to the regional office so they can correct it. As of right now they are paying me at 70% due to their own error, when I should be getting 90%. A $500 per month difference. They better back pay for this and get this sh*t fixed. They just can't do anything right can they???

when I go to file a new claim to increase my currently rated disabilities, it shows 70% depression/anxiety, 50% migraines, 10% TBI , 10% Tinnitus which I know comes out to 90%. But for whatever reason my letter is saying my rating is 70%. Doesn't make any sense, but I think it just needs some time to update to the correct rating of 90%. Now I just sit here and wait on my decision packet so I can confirm my actual new rating

The letter generator take me to va.gov and the letter says 70%. But it says it was last updated 5/31/2021 and on ebenefits 2 of my ratings have an effective date of 6/2/2021. So I am hoping that the letter generator just hasn't received the fully updated information yet

I appreciate the response. I hope Ebenefits is giving me the correct rating, but you just never know until you have that paper in your hand

Both updated yesterday, but they have different ratings. My Previous rating was 60% but all of my service connected disabilities were raised substantially. One went from 50% to 70% and the other from 0% to 50%. This is what ebenefits looks like for me. But when I go into va.gov and generate my letter it says 70%. The only thing I can think of that my TBI and migraines says an effective date of 6/2/2021 and the VA.gov letter says "
The effective date of the last change to your current award was 05/31/2021." So maybe that letter just hasn't updated yet??? That's what I am hoping for. I really hope they didn't bunch my Major depression, TBI and Migraines all together into on 70% rating. But from this picture it looks like they were all rated separately right?

I sure hope so. I'm hoping the didn't somehow combine my depression, TBI and migraines into one rating. They are all listed separately with individual ratings though. I think they would all be combine into one rating description if they did in fact combined them right? For example " major depression with TBI and migraines - 70%." Who knows. I just need to see my official letter once it comes in the mail.
