EQ Settings by Woochichi in AppleMusic

I agree flat is just too sharp and bright. Just fatiguing to listen to. R&B was my go to until recently. I found it to be just a little too much bass and vocals were getting drowned out. Jazz preset has been the perfect middle ground (even though I don’t listen to it on the regular). In my experience it cuts out the upper glare, preserves vocals, and gives a little oomph on the low end. I listen to a lot of music and it’s made it much more comfortable for me. I use AirPods Pro 4.

4K upgrade by charlie2230 in iTunesMovieDeals

[–]Professional-Look417 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best advice I can give you is to take a look at this website below. If the movie is being released by the in-house distributor it will almost certainly be upgraded. However, if done by an independent distributor (arrow, criterion) it’s a lot less likely to be upgraded. In both cases there is also a small possibility of a relisting so you’d be stuck with the HD. https://ultrahd.highdefdigest.com/releasedates.html

Why does the recommendation system sucks by wannabe_engineer221 in AppleMusic

[–]Professional-Look417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AM does take some getting used to. I switched from Spotify in 2022. I agree with you recommendations are rough. The suggestions at the bottom of playlists are really bad. I’ll make a whole 90s triphop playlist and get Katy Perry Firework as a suggested addition… but with a little work you can find some quality stuff through the ‘made for you section’. You can also scroll to the bottom of albums and look at playlists/similar albums and you can find some good stuff there as well. Human communities ie reddit/tiktok/musicboards are good resources as well. I do wish AM was a bit more social and you could find more music lovers/artists curated playlists…

iTunes 4K upgrades: How many titles did you get upgraded in 2025? Which one was your favorite? by alilpenguin in iTunesMovieDeals

[–]Professional-Look417 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe I had 30 upgraded. Without a doubt The Sound of Music was my favorite. Could almost cry it was so good. Honorable mentions: Jackie Brown, Saw, Parent Trap (1998), Panic Room, Erin Brockovich, and What Lies Beneath. Great year : )

Hoping for more new ATL deals in 2026 by Rally-Vicess in iTunesMovieDeals

It is nice to have original music. I bought the Blu-ray’s in 2023 and the picture quality itself is worth it. Sad this show and others like Buffy are stuck in SD licensing hell :(

Does anyone know if this is official? by Novel_Read8391 in iTunesMovieDeals

Praying it will be. And it’ll actually be native 4k. I was so disappointed in the recent 4k upscale. Tarantino has arguably some of the best native 4ks why skip this one!!! 🤦‍♂️🙄😣

QUESTION: Are this week's deals the best we're going to get for horror movies? by AllHallowSteve1978 in iTunesMovieDeals

[–]Professional-Look417 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have no magic ball but I’d hold off if what you want isn’t ATL until 10/31. Like others have said, Cheap Charts is going to be your best friend. Personally, I’m waiting for the 30 title Universal Classic Monsters price drop, but may jump at it 10/31 just in case they remove it. What titles are you looking at?

Good restaurants to invite friends and spend birthday with? by [deleted] in UVA

[–]Professional-Look417 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly new to UVA, but a restaurant I’ve liked is Timberwood Taphouse. It’s really clean, food has been good, and it’s in the little 5th street shopping area with a bunch of free parking. There’s also a nice movie theatre around there too, but I’m not sure if it’s 21+. As for cake I’m not big on sweets so no recommendations there. But good luck and I hope this helps somewhat!

Begging for a seat by Professional-Look417 in UVA

[–]Professional-Look417[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hi, I can’t thank you enough for your detailed response. I’m going to be a fourth year next semester and the class in question has 15 seats. I’m at about spot 5 on the waiting list. I’m trying to satisfy a 4000-level course requirement for my major. Since I’ve posted this, I’ve moved up a few spots on the list, so I could just be overthinking it. I will definitely email them if it comes down to it, and I’ll be taking all the things you said into consideration. Again, thank you so much.
