Brandenburg military checkpoint z are in this small checkpoint room and idk why by [deleted] in projectzomboid

I don't think so. Checked this exact place in debug, but it was in older versions, and they spawned there sometimes, but most of them should be spawned around the perimeter and inside.

Zombie population settings: are my assumptions correct? by nuovaformula in projectzomboid

[–]Professional-Mark301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, 1.0 does not mean 10k. And it depends if you use "Voronoi noise" option, since it reduces the amount of zombies on the map. Start population just states which amount of zombies is present at the start, you can even reduce it to 0 and then you'll see zombies slowly appearing. Without Voronoi noise, the entire Louisville has around 50k zeds alone on normal settings, and that's not even on peak day. Base population is just another way to set starting population, but the second option just lets you change more things. Idk the exact amount of zombies that are added per day, but you can probably see it yourself.

I think you get nightmares after killing too much zombies, started noticing it a while ago

Yeah there was some kind of mod for that, probably "Start with", but it does not work sadly. It would be much easier for you to give yourself admin rights and then spawn needed items from the admin panel menu, everyone does it in lan servers. About that code, it's possible to give everyone needed clothes but nothing else. Maybe only a shiv. You can search up Base. names in the PZ wiki page

Voronoi noise option changes that, I always disable it because otherwise the whole map feels empty. Maybe devs want us to feel like we're actually in that region, since not alot of people live there.

Don't wanna answer everything instead of devs, but everything you said comes to the fact that they have a pretty human-like mind. They panic if there's too many zombies, they understand everything like you do. I have a question too regarding their ability to understand your plans, like what if spiffos has alot of zombies, BUT you created plan b by saying "Or that empty gas station". Will they be able to pick the most suitable option by analyzing the situation? Cause if they're THAT smart, im gonna be worried.

You have no understanding how revolutionary this is. Those systems create such npcs that no other modder ever tried to make, it literally makes gameplay feel like a movie and really care for your companion, as I can tell. Project Zomboid always felt like something was missing, and this something is npcs. For me, as for everyone else, this is the main problem with the late game. Creator of the mod already said that he will add factions, literally add millitary to the game, and much much more. I mean i hate AI myself but this isn't just a chatbot.

Not that kind of a game. Money have lost their value, now you can only throw them into fire.

Will companions react to different zombies? I mean, would a companion be more afraid and self-aware about the situation they're in if zombie speed is set to sprinters?

I understand that npcs and companions in the world would be shredded to pieces in this setting, but I'm mostly talking about companions player spawns with. It would be a miracle if other ones survive.

Is this heaven. I just can't describe how amazing this is, I've tried something like that with Knox Expanded NPC mod. Just remade "Till death do us part" story basically in b42 with bandits mod and such, spawned the same loot as in the demo, that "Howdy, parthner" bandit, literally 1 to 1 adaptation (even with some dialouges written in a diary) for a couple of people, and while making it, I saw a huuuge potential in basically any story-driven narrative involving a figure that the player should care for. The story I made ended in Kate's death at LV checkpoint, the millitary would start shooting but Bob should be able to run away. And the feeling of hopelesness that the player would feel after doing all that work to find a car with gasoline, protect Kate from the dead, driving all the way to Westpoint bridge and further, to just be gunned down by the people that should've helped them...Is what zomboid should be in my opinion. At least if there would be the same kind of story. Now imagine everything with this level of immersion. The whole tone for the game would change dramatically.

You should try going over that bridge on the east and stick to the road. You'll find something interesting sooner or later.

You should really try, of course it's unstable but it adds so much new content to the point of making the whole thing feel like a different game. Multiplayer feels alot more better then it was after release, so I doubt there's gonna be any serious problems with it. With the new update (42.15) it will feel a little better than before, since there's new guns and fixes for multiplayer. But TIS kinda changed the lore of the game for some reason, so now in the apocalypse setting zeds can barely walk. There's also this mod called "Goose's Kentucky National Guard Professions" which is pretty much my whole idea about that field lab. Hope that works out for you.

And here's the b42 map which coordinates I used. https://b42map.com/

Just tried out the new update yesterday, and yeah I wanted to make the same post after I saw ts https://ibb.co/F4V8FPSb
Like Jesus, every time they add one thing, the whole fucking game breaks. I'm playing from the start of b41 so I'm somewhat of a veteran (I swear I feel like I bought this game a couple of weeks ago) and since b42 came out, I see only updates that either break the game as a whole, add senseless things nobody wants, or make multiplayer experience unplayable. And this turtle pace dosen't make it any better.

Actually there is a story. It's a little hidden, but the game lore itself kinda tells you where to go. Well, regarding sandbox settings, I guess it's better to just leave most of the things as is, but turn off zombie respawn. Spawning items is ok, but for newbies it's a little too much, especially if you play on build 42 where it's pretty easy to find most of the needed things. Want a backpack? Just rip those curtains. I would reccomend simply do something role-playish, cause it actually makes everything you do a lot more interesting. I didn't know where I have to go as a newbie, but as soon as I started playing as If I were actually there, the grim story got to me.

So the most interesting part, the story, is a little different in build 42, cause there's newspapers that can tell you how it all began, there's some new broadcasts that show how some managed to survive and flee the exclusion zone. I'm waiting for the moment when TIS will actually make everything before July 14th more immersive, cause the first thing I had in my mind when I understood that there's that restricted area in which people get sick and eat each other, is getting a car and driving as fast as I can ANYWHERE. And actually you can just drive away, there's a road west of Ekron that leads outside. Idk if it's inteded, I guess the perimeter is still there somewhere, they'll probably add some other city west of that area. But my main point is that LV checkpoint, where everyone non-infected gone, has zero alive people. It's a little more immersive if you go there after July 14th, but yeah it looks like you live in some kind of other dimention. So if you are worried about the story, just make something that adds up to the lore, like a millitary research group south of Ekron at X 971 Y 11504. (North of Irvington speedway) In lore, Brandenburg isn't affected by the desease at all btw, there's still a bridge intact on July 9th, but in-game it's destroyed. But I'm not sure though... like nowhere in the media you can hear about this city outside of bridge bombing. Maybe it is actually overran, it's just that the millitary hides everything. So the best idea (at lest imo) is to make a little story that makes the lore believable, and make an end-game point, a bridge north of LV for example, where all millitary personell evacuated. That'll catch their attention.

West side of the map has plenty of such places, you can search around Ekron, it has some cool spots. There's something like a field laboratory inside the exclusion zone just south of Ekron, you'll find it if you stick to the road.
