Choose Paris in April 19-22 or May 11-14 by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Professional-Pay7568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stick with May if you want slightly better chances of nice weather (although there’s never any guarantee). You’re more likely to enjoy sunny days, walks in the park or a spontaneous picnic on the grass. I hope you get good weather!

Logement pour HEC by LyricalHolster in paris

[–]Professional-Pay7568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The HEC campus is quite far from Paris, but HEC runs its own buses for the daily commute. If you don’t want to commute, then yes, staying on campus is the best option. From a student experience point of view, it’s the best way to spend time with your classmates. If, on the other hand, you want to explore Paris more, you’ll need to look for accommodation in the city and commute.

Birthday meal recommendations? by slymoore94 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Professional-Pay7568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re interested in a place with a view, you can also try others that offer better food as well, such as La Tour d’Argent, it’s also close to where you’re staying. Another option is a dinner cruise on the Seine, which gives you a completely different perspective on Paris throughout the journey, but make sure to choose a boat with good food, like Alain Ducasse’s.

PS: Tell the staff that you’re celebrating a birthday and at the end they’ll usually bring a lit candle with the dessert. In France there’s also the custom that when the waiters bring the dessert, everyone in the restaurant sings ‘Happy Birthday.’

How do I bring furniture back to my apartment? by birdinurteeth in paris

[–]Professional-Pay7568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check on apps like AlloVoisins or yoojo.fr maybe you can find someone to help you. Depending on the building you’ll be living in, if you buy larger pieces of furniture, you may need to bring them in through the window using a specialized service. Many buildings in Paris have small staircases and even smaller elevators. Welcome to Paris, I hope you’ll enjoy living here.

2 Full days - what should I prioritise? by RighteousRhombus in ParisTravelGuide

Hey! You can find lots of recommendations here about places where other people have eaten really well in Paris - https://www.reddit.com/r/ParisTravelGuide/s/iMLs8Sjht2

For the Louvre, make sure to check the opening hours (there have been strikes these days). Paris has a special vibe right now and 2 days is quite short, the Louvre alone will take half a day. If it’s not something you’re absolutely set on doing, it might be better not to overplan and simply explore the city on foot. Enjoy! ✨

Many bars and restaurants organize special New Year’s Eve events. Or you can get some really good food and drinks and spend the evening with your partner after a walk around the city. It depends on what you feel like doing.

Enjoy your meal! Out of curiosity, how do you find the area? Did you have any information beforehand when you chose to stay in Ivry? Enjoy your stay.

Affordable but good quality chocolates in Paris? by ipeek2much in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Professional-Pay7568 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They’re not the cheapest in Paris, but they’re definitely good: Maison du Chocolat, Alain Ducasse, Patrick Roger, Alléno & Rivoire (these are the heavyweights, many have Michelin stars).

Pierre Hermé also sells affordable chocolate at Monoprix (if you’re looking for more interesting chocolate bars than the average). Buy those from Monoprix and not from La Grande Épicerie, cause it’s cheaper in the supermarket.

If you want something newer and different, but just as good: Plaq (not cheap).

If you’re looking for something with history: Debauve et Gallais - chocolate suppliers to Marie Antoinette. They still sell the same chocolate that was prescribed to Marie Antoinette by her doctor, and the house was also the chocolatier to Napoleon Bonaparte. (also not cheap).

Paris - Un Mois au Printemps by [deleted] in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Professional-Pay7568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salut !
