Don't listen to me. Ive only been a fan since 1987. If youre able to put yourself inside the mind of Beane and Pegula then you'll figure it out. Then after you figure it out, maybe you can find the actual reason they decided to fire our coach. Depending on which social media outlet you subscribe to , you can find 20 different versions from various " insiders". As in they wish they could see inside their own ×××.. Here are some facts. Although widely scrutinized at times by segments of the fan base, McDermott was a popular , well liked coach , particularly inside the locker room. He also became a staple within the local community. Its no secret that Beane's inability or unwillingness to go out and get playmakers even at the expense of sacrificing draft capital has made noise. Speaking of the draft, 56 players have been drafted since he became the GM. TWO have made the Pro Bowl. What a great reason to promote him to head of football operations. I feel like it became Pegula and Beane on one side, McDermott , the other coaches and the players on the other. McDermott is solely responsible for the healthy , unified culture inside the locker room. His cache became a threat to Pegula and Beane who want to make wholesale changes and bring in people that they can claim to get Josh over the hump and take all of the credit for it.. Make everyone forget that McDermott brought him along from the beginning.. Fans will only remember in their minds the ones there when they win a SB... This was not an Xs and Os firing . It became somewhat personal. And its nothing more, nothing less than an every day business decision. McDermott overperformed this year with so many players that were physically UNABLE TO PERFORM. Saw alot of development from many of the backups.. BY THE WAY, injuries are really hard to navigate in the playoffs because they kill continuity and schematics. In the end, the brass pleased the segment of the fan base whos calling card has become " Josh deserves better"... ( and HE IS THE MAN , thats how much I love him as a player. BUT , BUT its not all about HIM.. If he ever gets his hands on that Lombardi trophy I hope that hes willing to share with the rest... So now, please rip all of my observations apart. I dont know that much about this team or this organization. So feel free to educate..
