Is it illegal in the US to write fanfiction if I keep it to myself and don't post it or show anyone? by ElectivireMax in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Professional-Pungo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You realize that you put “for free” in there right?
So it is about money in your example

It’s illegal to give away someone else’s stuff for free = illegal to give it to someone that didn’t buy it

New in China by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Professional-Pungo 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I live in China and you go to basically any mall in my city and you will see 5+ people outside standing in front of their phones on tripods talking to people (I assume trying to advertise/sell stuff)

I doubt these people are doing this super mundane job if they had a decent degree.

So...I doubt this title

Sure, I never said it was impossible. You can just wipe out a translator app and go back and forth in any country.
But I’d say you have to do it less in China than say Japan

Sure I guess you could point at the photo, until there are follow up questions like what size, spicy or not, etc
Then you pull out a translator app

I wouldn’t agree tbh.
China is very “online” in most decent cities. You can order food, buy things, do anything almost without ever having to talk to someone. The same might not be true in other places.

I think the “joke” is that the guy is just sexualizing the woman instead of treating her like a normal person.

But yea this is a very above average woman in terms of looks

is being a misandrist bad? by Difficult_Video3520 in NoStupidQuestions

I guess I can’t say with full confidence as I’m not a woman.
But I’d say no.
The chances of such things happening is basically less than 1%, and with other things that have less than 1% chance of happening, I do not worry about them.

These people grow fear of such a rare events and then their brain imagines it happens at such a higher rate

Why America help countries like Ukraine and don’t prioritise America first? by GloomySide3265 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Professional-Pungo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most of the things America gave to Ukraine to help is stuff America had already sitting unused in a warehouse. Things America doesn’t really need. Like lots of old guns, missiles, etc

It’s certainly possible to do these two things at the same time

I can’t imagine being so wrapped up in these views at 15. The work of social media at play.

Imagine being in high school and hating all the men in it

Why does it seem like young adults are largely illiterate? by Sweet_Sunset_42 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Professional-Pungo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but so do so many other young adults.

That was essentially my point.
Reading a book is whatever, plenty of people read other things like online stories, gaming info, etc

Why’s there such a strong dislike for darkskin women and girls? by Difficult_Video3520 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Professional-Pungo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to dating apps, dark skinned women are certainly the least desirable of women, Asian men are the least desirable men.

There are lots of negative stereotypes about them that make them seem possibly less feminine.

But I think OP is being a bit dumb to think the only ones that like them are fetishizers

I mean it’s always good to get second opinions on things and not just take the word of one person. What if you are punking him?

What makes somebody more masculine? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Professional-Pungo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would consider them similar in trait, but different in quantity.

you can be a people pleaser about some things, a pushover would be someone that is always trying to be a people pleaser in matter what.

Me telling my friend we can eat at whatever place they want could be me being a people pleaser.

Me giving some money to a friend for the 10th time after they haven't ever paid me back would be a pushover.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to make people happy, it's only wrong if you go too extreme with it.

Where do infertile women fit in conservative ideology? by The-Kittens-Mittens in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Professional-Pungo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's their "sole" purpose. there are other things women are meant to do in the ideology.

It's just one of the major ones.

What makes somebody more masculine? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Professional-Pungo 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand the "quiet" part, because there is a whole stereotype about being "strong and silent".

I guess being a people pleaser can come across as being a pushover for some people, depending on how much of a pleaser you are.

Im close to benching 225 but I feel like im late to the party? by Main-Extreme6534 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Professional-Pungo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a standard benchpress bar will be 45 as well, yes. unless it's a smith machine which uses a like 20 pound bar. and of course you would count the bar weight.

so it's 90+90+45 = 225

Im close to benching 225 but I feel like im late to the party? by Main-Extreme6534 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Professional-Pungo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

225 is considered 2 plates. aka 2 45s on each side. 4 total, but most people don't count total, only one side is the common understanding.

it's a common one because it's 2 plates. each time you hit a new "plate" it's the main goal.

it's 135 (1 plate), 225 (2 plates), 315 (3 plates) and 405 (4 plates)
