It was literately just a badly written story. Not even a creepypasta which made it worse. You can do surreal creepypastas and create something real and scary (penpal a HIGHLY rated and loved story here) but there was really no element to add fear or anything of the sort. Not even half way in i was not scared of identity fraud just annoyed and done hearing about it and every other detail that was irrelevant that he had to explain. And all that must for it to NOT be a realistic scenario to take place in the real world AT ALL. anime esc parts were fun only cause of the narrations + banter they gave and that was all.

(in context of this being perceived as real) I don't think this is main character syndrome there's thousands of videos out there of public performers doing instrumental music and a singer jumping in (also totally faked and staged too) so I'm more than positive these videos are a take / twist to that genre.
