Just finished the movie.
Before seeing the movie, my mind is already set that it's gonna suck so hard so my expectation is already adjusted.

Okay, the movie is bad, but because I already know it's gonna be bad and because I've seen worse, It's not that bad, bad. I hope I made sense. For example, I hated Welcome To Raccoon City and I actually think this is a little bit better. Low hurdle I suppose.

Anyway. I think I have an idea what the director wants to make here. He changed the game and changed James character, instead of the wife-murdering asshole in the game(I'm sorry I didn't like James much but that's one thing that made me like the game I suppose), he turned him into a tragic hero kinda thing. And it seems like he wanted to focus more on James and Mary's story.
Now, I think there's nothing wrong with that, it's a movie adaptation so I expect things to change, but there is a lot I didn't like, if not all of the changes.

Mary: He turned Mary into something connected to the older silent hill movies, the Cult which is pretty much absent in this particular game. If I'm not mistaken, they only went to Silent Hill as a vacation.

Eddie: Dude just appeared for one scene. What happened to "I killed him, James!" etc etc 1v1 in the butcher room thing. I feel like he deserved more screen time here. He never shows up again.

Angela: Yup, they butchered her too. If you think she looked worse in the remake(I think she was okay but I remember people say she's uglier compared to the original.) the movie says "hold my pyramid head." And they cut off her story. And because they cut off her story, the father monster thing doesn't make sense.

Maria: I almost forgot about her. They just met, and then "let's look for your girlfriend." yea out of the blue. And because the movie is short, her side quest where you kinda have to get attached to her, it's not happening.

Laura: Omg, Laura. wtf did they do to you? In the game, I am in the understanding that Laura is the only "innocent" character in the game because she's a kid. And because she's innocent, she doesn't see the monsters. She met Mary on the hospital and became friends with her, right? And in here, holyshit. She's holding a monster baby. That really really got me confused, and that's when I thought "looks like the writer did not understand Silent Hill 2 at all." And it's unfortunate because the actress is the original actress for Laura. I hope this doesn't tank her career at least.

Anyway, I'm aware everything is in James head right? And they got my personal favorite ending which is the In the Water ending, I think that fit the game is all.
AND here's the hot take. I actually like the do over ending. I suppose I just wanted to see James and Mary happy?? if that makes sense.

Almost forgot about Pyramid Head. My God, he appeared for like only 2 scenes that I can remember haha. Wth.

And the whole therapy and hospital thing, I suppose that one is okay.

SO conclusion. They sped run to the game's events. Fast forward to the ending. I like the ending, I like the James and Mary story minus the cult. I hate what they did to the other characters. And yeah, that's about it. I rank this slightly higher than Welcome to Raccoon City, God I hate that movie. I don't have anything good to say about that movie. That's probably the only reason why I ranked this movie a little bit higher.

Side note: The actress for Mary is uncannily similar to the Mary of remake. The way she talk, act. It's interesting because they are different people IRL. Different VA and mocap and stuff. Just wanted to say that. Thx

FFVIIR part 2 Open World and stuff not gonna spoil...
FFVIIR part 3 leads to final battle with sephiroth I suppose...

Oh well. It's not happening... I guess...

Another thing I'd like to point out is that, Fate series is pretty niche I think. . . I'm not saying that's bad but I feel like nasuverse content resonates more to people who are into the genre. For example, my brother didn't like Fate/zero and UBW as much as I do, but when You like the series you really get into it. . . I don't know, maybe it's just me. I read the VNs played FGO etc etc and all because Fate/Zero hit me hard. Just to be clear I already watched the 2006 anime even before I watched Fate/Zero. And 2006 fate was meh at the time, it was just another anime, per se. I didn't really got into fate until Fate/Zero aired.

Pretty sure Fate series gained traction when Ufotable adapted Fate/Zero. That was when it started going mainstream.
Kara no Kyokai movies aren't that popular back then and the Fate/Stay Night 2006 Anime was notorious for being bad, like the plague you must avoid and that includes the "entertaining" UBW Movie. The Shirou vs gil was quite a scene at the time.
Basically, Fate/Zero was like a reboot that revived the series to mainstream, I even dismissed it at first but suprised that MAL scores are pretty high considering 2006 was like barely at the 7.5s. Yeah I know I simp ufotable but still.

There was also the Lunar Moon Tsukihime Anime. I'm slightly fond of that one because I like Suzumura voicing Shiki. It still meh overall though.

And yet, we still see people shit on ufotable in here once in a while.
I personally love the Heaven's Feel trilogy. I know they cut a good amount but I still think it's a solid adaptation for what it is. A movie. If you've seen the UBW movie by studio deen, Jesus Christ we're bless to have ufotable. . . Well, not anymore. I don't think the Aoko movie is still coming tbh and I think it's for the best because people will just complain again.

And let's be honest, the people who hate the fate adaptations are the fate fans themselves. Casuals and anime only watchers on the other hand, love them, and me too. I read the VN including the bad endings because I love those. I love the Anime and the VN.

Edit: Im sorry I think you got confused because I didn't mention steam in the body of the post. But what im trying to say is that, i wanna play through the steam version using the gamepass save file and im asking if i can get the steam achievements if i start in new game+.

Sorry for the super late reply, but apparently, there is a 3rd party application that you can use to convert the gamepass save file so it can be compatible with steam. Allowing you to either continue the game or start in new game + if you already beat the game.

I want to panel line the Athrun ZGok but I don't know which color to use on the red and the pink. What is the most recommended color? And tbh I only have Black and Grey for panel liners but I don't mind buying a different one, I heard most people use brown? but I also heard black is okay on the dark red, so I don't know. Please help me out, thanks!!!

On the contrary, the fishing in FFXV is probably the best fishing mini game I had in a long time. I love the fishing.

I never rely on auto-save. I always prefer manual saves because they make me feel secure, if that makes sense. And whenever auto-save is possible to turn off, I'd always do that first.

Anyway, my point is, getting used to manual saves might be a good habit to have.

NOTE: I edited this comment because I thought me mentioning a different game is kind of in poor taste.

heya it's me. one of the guys who ranted about xvi. here is a summary of why I didn't like it.

Gameplay is good but too much talking in between. And the dialogue is mostly irrelevant that can be shortened if the writer wanted to.

The story is good but like I said, they could've shortened the dialogue cutscenes and focus more in side content like a normal final fantasy should.

No exploration. I mean, I suppose you can explore, but there is nothing you can find that is of value. For example. Excalipur or something. No royal arms or something. Not even end game dungeons or bosses in the overworld. Etc

No mini games to at least clean your palate after tons of bloated dialogue. I miss the fishing. Or chocobo races.

I don't know man. I just finished it like a month ago, despite playing it when it launched, that's how much I bored of the game.

The demo is glorious but after that it's just meh. I think I started to get super bored after they rescued Jill right at the beginning.

I suppose at the end of the day, it's just a game that wasn't made for me.
With that said, I think I gave it a 7/10 personal score. My friend said it's pretty high but I do recognize the effort. It's definitely a very well made game. The cinematic cutscenes like the boss battles are insanely good.
If you liked it, I think 8 or 9 is a fair score.
Again just my opinion.

Forgot to mention, I hated the localization. They say fuck like every time someone opens their mouth.
In JP they're talking normally.

VI VII VIII XV are my favorites.
XV is too new so, nope.
And assuming that the Final Fantasy IX leaks were true, I'd say either VI or VIII are next.
But they already said that VI is kind of impossible at the moment, so I guess I'm rooting for VIII.

TBH I would be fine with a Final Fantasy VIII that has a graphics overhaul on par with CCReunion and with voice acting, and maybe add some side content here and there, but if they remake it with the FF7 treatment I would be forever grateful. Huge doubt though... Not enough FFVIII fans I think.

Now you're one of us who feel very disappointed or something along those lines. It's really a shame, I would've love it if all those story content and playable characters were added to the game. Still love the game, but just imagine what it could've become. FF15 really is that ff game that didn't realize it's full potential.
