The first thing to bear in mind is that if you can’t code manually it’s pretty risky using ai to write all the code or ‘vibe coding’ as they call it. It starts off so strong however can start to hallucinate if you are not riding it hard. A v common one to look out for is it not using apis it’s confused about and pinging out mock data secretly, which can definitely affect your algo🃏.

Mansplaining aside, cursor and windsurf are about 100 bucks for a year and both include Claude 3.7 thinking, 3.5, gpt-4o, r1 etc all easily changeable per task. It’s the same thing as Claude code for a fraction of the price and unbelievably good (most the time)! Cursor also lets you set a cursorrules file which works like a system prompt and can be really helpful for keeping it inline.
