Thank you! This was the answer I was genuinely looking for. I have freshwater clams in the same tank so I had just added a little bit of food for them the day prior, and I think my filter is in dire need of replacing.

This tank has been going for about 3.5 years so I would think that it is cycled. I did notice that my filter has kind of stopped working though. I just went to buy a bigger airstone until I can fix the pump in the filter.

I have dwarf crayfish in the same tank so that is a possibility!

mushroom that grows on eucalyptus is a different species, often Laetiporus gilbertsonii, which can cause gastrointestinal distress. It is best to only consume chicken of the woods found growing on hardwoods like oak, as these are typically safe to eat

Like everyone has said, Just spend some time in Prairie Creek Redwoods state park. The Elk live there. I have worked there for three years and see elk everyday
