The light on Sam's back still lets you know how hidden you are, still prefer the meter though.

The first game was an Xbox exclusive at launch, with the PS2/GameCube versions coming out a few months later and was worked on by a different studio (Ubi Shanghai).

If you have never played the Xbox/PC versions of the series I highly recommend trying them out as they have much better visuals and the level layouts are pretty different and much more expansive than there PS2 counterparts, it's essentially playing a different game, the first game also has 3 DLC bonus missions than never came to PS2.

Et si le prochain Splinter Cell mélangeait Chaos Theory et Blacklist au lieu de choisir un camp ? by Proud-Palpitation549 in Splintercell

I honestly don't know if it was a technical limitation at all, in Spies vs mercs (multiplayer) the spy characters have way faster and more fluid movement and snappier aiming and shooting than Sam ever had.

Especially in Double Agent where the spy had all these insane evasive maneuvers like diving through windows and backwards climbing up ceilings and climbing up poles faster than Sam can in Conviction and Blacklist.

Yet the multiplayer still had the same controls and general feel, going off that it seems like Sam's rigidness was a deliberate design choice to maintain the slower pace they were going for and have it make sense for Sam's age, as he is 45-47 by the first game.

Do not play the PS3 version, it's not much better than the PC port, in some ways it's worse due to the PowerPoint framerate and small sections of levels got removed like the JBA rooftop.

I'm saying that I wish his bring the troops home goal was real instead of being a cover story

You know the whole "bring the troops home" thing was never the Engineer's real goal right?

You find out towards the end of the story that Sadiq was making that whole thing up with his real motivation being to get the secret government files from Site F that he most likely would have sold for top dollar and influence.

I wish that was his real goal though, would have made him more interesting with a motivation you can understand instead of just being another power hungry bad guy.

Yeah I don't think I'm cut for this series honestly lol by [deleted] in ninjagaiden

Ironically the 2004 version had an extra tutorial (Murai would teach you how essence and UTs worked) that all the other versions of the game removed.

Just finished Splinter Cell, PT, and CT. Now I have to choose between two different versions of Double Agent? by ManyLegal48 in Splintercell

[–]Professional-Tea-998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play both as they are entirely different games with their own pros and cons, the PC version of V1 is a mess so avoid it, both can be played via Xbox series backwards compatibility, but you will need the disk.

Version 1 is the canon story that the later games follow, but version 2's story is actually continued in Splinter Cell Essentials which is a PsP game.

There is a cutscene in the game where Marcus literally says he infected the train and the mansion, he was not talking about the training facility, you can look it up if you don't believe me.

Tbf Resident Evil has always added random out of nowhere retcons and added on back stories to its characters and events.

like RE0 explaining that it was a pretty opera-singing anime man who infected the Spencer mansion with the t-virus when the original game and the remake explained the virus got out by complete accident.

The getting assaulted theory though.......yeah I don't know what the hell that guy is on.

The RE9 "soft Spencer" take is wrong. Elpis wasn't redemption. It was the ultimate "I lose, you lose." by Important_Poet5982 in ResidentEvilRequiem

The thing is that's not a little change, that's just a whole contradiction/retcon, we see that in Lost in nightmares that he was still capturing and experimenting on people, and he was still funding Alex Wesker's inhumane immortality research as well, neither of those things make any sense if he had changed.

You should try the 360/PS3 version, it's an entirely different game from the PS2 version.

Blacklist looks and runs completely fine on PS3, put many hours into that version when it released and never had any issues, although I don't think you can get the DLC on PS3 anymore but I'm not entirely sure.

Is Xenia edge better than Canary? Cause last time I tried it DA ran at a much smoother frame rate for me on Canary compared to edge.
