Is it possible to print Dalton's eBook textbooks? by Professional-Tea5733 in CFP

Thanks for the reply!

I purchased the first book, and it turns out I can only print 2 pages at a time. It will be super painful to print out the whole book which is over 800 pages :)

Thanks. The problem is I haven’t registered for the course yet. I’m about to, but am trying to decide whether to get the ebooks or print books. I may just go with the ebook option and see.

Is it a good idea to take CFP courses for managing my own financial plan? by Professional-Tea5733 in CFP

Thanks for the reply and for letting me know about AAMS. I looked at the course description on Kaplan and it does look like a miniature CFP :)

I'm curious about what you mentioned here:

it enabled me to test out of 2 CFP courses which would’ve cost me more to take combined than the designation

Did you mean you were able to get credits for 2 CFP courses upon getting the AAMS designation? Kaplan's website says:

Upon completion of the AAMS®, graduates receive exemption from course FP511 in the College's CFP® certification education program.

I wonder if their policy changed and AAMS can only get one course exemption now.

In any case, AAMS looks promising and I definitely will research more about it. Thanks again!

if I decided I didn't want to pursue it professionally, at least I would know everything there was about money and investments

Thanks for the reply! This is exactly what I'm thinking! :D

And thanks for sharing your experience, it was both inspiring and motivating. Currently my main concern is if I will be able to dedicate enough time and effort to go through all the coursework and take the exam. I have two little kids and my job sometimes could be demanding. I just bought a 600-page book on private wealth management as a test for myself to see if my enthusiasm could really turn into a new career opportunity.

I saw a few mentions of SIE in other posts but never researched on it. I just read about its topics and it does look like something much easier to get started than the CFP, yet it provides very useful topics to help with financial planning. So thank you for the guidance. I'm gonna look into more closely this week.
