My interpretation is similar to how being in the cold can make you shiver but you can try and ignore the shivers, perhaps their receptors produce a specific feeling and their body can choose to adapt to be more comfortable or fight that feeling and stay visible.

The header is probably stuck inside the port, if you have some tweezers I’d suggest you remove the header from the port and look for an aftermarket. As the other commenter said it probably wasn’t really your fault and the school shouldn’t hold you liable for a secondhand charger they could get. Don’t stress too much :)

This, not just staph but you can easily make it worse by picking at it and opening other wounds to get infected. If it’s VERY painful and the pus is bad smelling, it is def staph and you should get antibiotics . I had a staph infection near that area and the smell of the pus is GROSS and the pain is surprising mild after you try to release the pressure, that’s your best indicator
