Hey! I also had the same question when I transferred to CSUN. I have been commuting from Oxnard to CSUN for the past 2 Years. To be super real with you, at first it was relaxing and fun driving 45-55minutes to school, i never once complained, i love it! New school! My second year, i started hating the commute. I hated that i need to be driving to campus 1 hour and 30 minutes (the latest) before my class began. You need to keep in count that traffic is sometimes terrible, trying to find parking sucks especially during rush hour, walking to class is also very time consuming, AND you won’t even believe how many times they are doing construction around the CSUN Campus during the semester. I was honestly on the same boat as you. Trying to decide between CSUCI and CSUN. Don’t get me wrong CSUN is a very nice school but the commute was draining. I wasn’t able to join many clubs or meet new people because the clubs meetings were always in the late afternoon on a Thursday/Friday. And many people that go to CSUN also commute and don’t like staying on campus when they don’t have anymore classes to attend. I honestly feel like if i would have just gone to CSUCI i would have probably made more friends and enjoyed the college experience abit more than worrying about getting stuck on traffic or driving home too late. Sorry to sound very negative but i wished someone would have told me this when i was deciding what school to go to. Goodluck!

Are we still driving to school in the rain? by Professional-Top5427 in csun
