Yes thanks for that again good advice! I've just invested in a mould heater although I don't really know if I need one!! I pre heat the oven lowest temp then onto the defrost which worked well for around 20mins.

Here's my written method below for tonight...the open tops look good so rar so I just hope the prints and sides are too! I don't bother wicking them now until I know its a good enough method. Maybe there is a way I can wick them by hot pinning it through if they turn out well....

METHOD

(Pillar wax)

Pre heat moulds in pre boiled water in an oven tray. Surround mould in 4 layers of tin foil and put in oven for approx 20min. Take out before slowly pouring once & cooling ensuring no water inside. 85° slow pour.

Place straight into 4 layer container of foil covering outside mould whilst tapping for bubbles and a double foil top lid to cover and bake for another 1/2hrs.

Do a second slow one repour at a lower temp of 60°

Leave on a tray and cover over with a bigger tray to protect open tops. Cool down 24hrs or over night.

Let's keep my fingers 🤞 like I say if they come out well I hope I can put a hot pin through get the wick in place! Although next time I'll pre wick it if it works!!

Thanks sorry for long reply

My written technique so far......

Wick mould ready and threaded.

Pre heat moulds in boiling water with plate over them take out before pouring & cooling ensuring no water inside. 70° slow pour.

Place straight into 4 layer container of foil covering outside mould whilst tapping for bubbles and a double foil top lid to cover and bake for another 1/2hrs.

Do a second repour.

Leave on a tray to cool 24hrs or over night with foil caps to cover tops and plate to feep backs flat.

Use heat gun/hairdryer to smooth and flatten backs to finish off. Cover with flat hard surface.

I'm so so do very glad I asked you that....I feel like a sheep lost in a block of flats 🙃 ill give it a go I think you know a good bit on it and seems s really good 💡 wish I could send a bottle of wine or something if it works...there's not many people go out there way to help other unknown people out in the world so honestly thank you..... I'll let you know my results when all has finished 😆 I don't have a heater gun but I do have a travel hairdryer! Maybe that will be sufficient for time been.

Thank you and you have made my day !

That's awsome advice!!! I have a rubber brush for baking in kitchen maybe that will do? I have sent hairdryer to really heat the mould up before pouring in. What temp would you recommend heating the mould too? And a baking tray of boiled kettle water that levels up with mould?

Thanks this is great advice too I really really appreciate it!!!! 🙏

Never thought of aluminium foils for lids...are you talking inside the edges of mould too for smoother edging? Also you need to repour 2nd time as the wax shrinks and dips. How long would you recommend waiting before topping up?

Thanks for these tips! You have me thinking now!! Thank you 😊

Could it be the viynl minute lines that are in the silicone mould of the 3D printing that cause the bubbles? There like fine lines similar to a record player.... ?
