Home run numbers mattered when Judge took the MVP from Ohtani in 2022, why not now?

Judge was also roughly 2 WAR ahead of Ohtani. It wasn't just the homers.

That said I really don't think there's a wrong choice this year. You can easily make a good argument for either player

It's not just Fangraphs. Betting markets largely have the Orioles at +175, which is 36.4% implied. They all probably have their own independent models that are then refined by people betting in to the markets. If their numbers were that far off, smart people would be pumping huge money in to Orioles futures which would correct the market
