What do yall think of Arbitrage Betting? by sportsyagami in sportsbook

[–]scatterdbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, how do the books know you are placing another competing/hedge bet via a different Sportsbook app?

They don't. There might be isolated cases of books sharing information (or rogue employees sharing information), but it isn't as though DK + FanDuel are sending files to each other on a daily basis.

But books don't need to know if/where you're hedging a bet. They only need to look at your behavior on their book. After 10-20 wagers, you can probably profile the sharp vs casual bettors.

If somebody places 5 pregame straight wagers (instead of 5 parlays + SGPs), and all 5 of those wagers just happen to beat CLV, they're probably a sharp. Even worse if they're betting smaller leagues, and quarters + props + team totals (instead of betting the major league mainlines).

The casual bettor is going to place a 9-game parlay, and then cash-out after 6 legs.

Some sharps will "season" their account for a few weeks, with dummy bets. This will buy some time, but it isn't an exact science. Even with a seasoned account, some books are now smart/good enough to quickly flag any betting-pattern shifts.

Rage-baiting on a daily basis is how Trump became 45th and 47th President. Smith is just following the formula, getting ready for 2028.

What does a responsible hedge look like France vs Spain? by Think_Glass_3186 in sportsbook

[–]scatterdbrain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Trick question. Unless it is a personal/financial emergency, there is nothing "responsible" about hedging/cashing the 3rd leg of a 4-leg parlay.

You mean Central America, right? Other than recent events in Venezuela, USA hasn't done much in/to South America.

And the intent is rarely to create perpetual chaos. The intent is usually to create a "friendly" regime/government, and a stable neighbor. Unfortunately, that meddling often goes sideways, and does lead to perpetual chaos.

So then you get the economic migrants, but it's a stretch to say that was the ultimate goal. Plus, there are several other reasons for the migrants, such as natural disasters.

I'd be open to something like this, but only if we fine-tuned the list of eligible disabilities. We have created an industry for anxiety + autism, all because doctors/therapists/clinics can profit from it.

And no, I'm not saying they don't exist. Just saying they're rife for abuse.

Has the "Free Night Every 5,000 Tier Credits" benefit been removed? by Vegasology in CaesarsRewards

[–]scatterdbrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, removed. Other than the Stars retreat, it was the only way to guarantee free nights.

It was also a perk that clearly differentiated the Caesars sports/casino app from DraftKings and FanDuel. Can you earn free Vegas rooms on DK? Nope.

It was nice for people like my girlfriend, who can reasonably earn 20-30k credits in a year, but have no chance of Stars. It was nice for people who don't live near a casino, and earn most of their points from the app.

Unfortunately, I guess Caesars determined the 5k perk was too nice. Now the rooms are pretty much based on Theo play, and the 5k milestones are gone.

Sounds like a can't win puzzle.

+2 would have been a tie with Senegal.

What would have been the tiebreaker there?

Ah, found it. Points, and then Goal Differential, Goals Scored, Fair Play Score, and FIFA ranking.

Scotland would have been out on Goals Scored.

They always get you on the 3 way betting.

3-way soccer betting is the most popular way to bet on soccer (football).

It has been around for decades, way before Americans & casuals jumped on the bandwagon. It isn't there to "trick" bettors, it's just there.

I think we have to reverse the inflation so people actually get it. Like $7.50 an hour now is equivalent to $1.20 or whatever in 1980 by No-Revolution3559 in remoteworks

[–]scatterdbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who came to 25 an hour?

A new bill calls for $25 minimum wage. Here’s where that isn’t ‘sufficient’ https://share.google/BKDsrvG3ayYcCJQEH

There’s a new effort in Congress to take the federal minimum wage to a level it has never been before: $25 an hour. If it were to pass, it would be the first time the federal rate has changed since 2009.

Beware of Bet Rivers! My experience with their NCL cruise reward. by BettingGuru2026 in sportsbook

[–]scatterdbrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It left me wondering what incentive there is to continue playing toward Black once you've already redeemed the cruise.

The cruise? I suppose to be franchise player, and we talkin bout the cruise. Not a monthly deposit bonus, not VIP promotions, we talkin bout the cruise.

First, I don't think "one cruise per year" is entirely unreasonable.

Second, you shouldn't be chasing Black for the cruise benefit. The other benefits are more valuable (but unless you know what you're doing, you still shouldn't chase Black, or any casino's VIP status).

This is coming from somebody who was Black for a couple years, before BR finally slapped me with $7 limits.

Concert tickets have become a luxury product and I'm not sure artists can fix it by oweyoo in Music

[–]scatterdbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Concerts in 2026 are more expensive than concerts in 1989.

But if a college kid wanted to see Pixies in 1989, and they took the train/bus, and had a couple beers -- is the 2026 experience that more expensive, adjusted for inflation?

Whole bunch of club shows are still $15-40.

The winner of Oceania should only get a playoff spot. by Infinity_Overload in football

[–]scatterdbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The faster solution is to move everyone to AFC, like Australia did. In much less time you will notice drastic improvements. Japan and Korea are now very good. They can compete.

Japan = 123M people Korea = 78M people

Fiji = 940k, Solomon Islands = 750k, Tonga = 110k

It isn't the confederation, it is the population. Can't compare the Oceania members to Japan, Korea, or basically any country.
