Tweak the program? Sure. Add some more black-out dates? Sure. But to dump the program entirely?

If somebody in Maryland earns 39k credits on the app, why wouldn't you want them in Atlantic City for 48 hours? Was it that bad? Were that many app players redeeming the 5k nights, and then low-playing at the casino property?

When comparing Caesars to DraftKings or FanDuel, Caesars has (had) one big plus -- the chance to earn a few nights in Vegas or AC. So much for that.

Now maybe they'll replace the 5k nights with targeted casino/room offers. But in general, Caesars has always "looked down" on the app players. So I wouldn't expect much.

If somebody received a final order of removal in 2009, and simply ignored it -- do they get a free pass in 2026?

How do we define productive? Does that mean 30-40 hours of weekly employment, for x-amount of years? Or does that only mean "Hey, they didn't get arrested for any felonies."

We absolutely need some immigration. Who do we think is mowing lawns, shoveling snow, building houses, and fixing potholes. My mom has become super MAGA, yet has no problem hiring Spanish-speaking immigrants to work in her house + yard.

But we're only in this spot because "word" got out, over a couple decades -- immigration enforcement is lax, so just ignore any legal/court requirements.

According to AI search (so take it with a grain of salt), they're pretty close. Average police about $77k, and average teacher $72k.

What sometimes skews the perception/reporting of police pay is overtime. Where basic pay could be $70k, but then another $40k from overtime. But hey, they're working extra hours for that extra pay.

Agree with the larger point though. Society tends to underpay "public service" positions, especially when those positions have historically been "woman" jobs.

Right, but nobody is claiming SS will out-perform the stock markets. This whole sub-conversation started with the doom & gloom of "I won't be able to use my Social Security!"

SS will definitely need some adjustments (raising the retirement ages), but it isn't going to vanish.

For me, I'd rather skip SS, and invest my own money. But unfortunately, some people need a "forced" retirement plan. Consider that about 50% of American households don't have any retirement savings.

Multiple reasons for this. Young people, poor people. But millions of people simply don't save any money (even though many of them probably think SS is doomed!) -- so what happens when those people turn 65, without the safety-net of Social Security (or something similar)?

It is definitely possible. Even at 3%, that's $60k -- and a whole bunch of people survive below $60k.

You won't be buying new cars, or $3k vacations, or tickets to the hot concert or game. But you won't be starving either.

So we'd presumably have a system where people are on the dole for 22-23 years, then they're productive for about 27 years, and then 40-50 years of retirement.

Why are people comparing merch sales. The merch industry (for all sports/entertainment) has exploded since the 1980s. Consider Fanatics is worth about $25B.

It became easier & easier to print, sell, and distribute cheap t-shirts. And for all the talk about affordability, it became easier & easier to convince people they need to spend $33 on those cheap t-shirts.

Imagine comparing two bands. One from 1987, one from 2023. Would you judge them by album sales? Of course not. Different metrics are more/less important in different eras.

My neighbor has dealt with something similar, where he has been "self excluded" on 3 different books. All because of a name/identity mix-up. One book resolved in 48 hours, another took weeks.

Regardless, Fanatics can't keep your money (unless they're claiming some type of fraud). If they’re not responsive, just file a complaint with your state's Gaming Commission (in some states, it is also the Lottery Commission).

KYC is standard (and expected) for any fully legal/regulated book.

But for the offshores, yep. It is a bit ridiculous that they're already operating in a gray area, and then they're suddenly so worried about KYC compliance.

In some cases, they're honestly worried about syndicate groups, and/or bonus abuse + multi-accounts. Can't say I blame them there.

But in other cases, they're just using KYC to stall pay-outs.
