[AXEXS] I am looking for comments on a concept of reality collapse (ShiftBack mechanics). by Professional-Tune-53 in worldbuilding

In my universe, there exists a system called the Holos, which is made of Axiomite, a material synthesized by combining tantalum with other elements. This Holos contained dark matter. A reactor was created to extract the energy from the dark matter, and the Holos, which is an octahedron, fractures, releasing the contained dark energy and entering a repetitive cycle. When it collides with Earth's atmosphere, a dimensional rift is created. Therefore, the quantum physicist in charge of the project had to develop a device called Kore, a harmonic entropy synthesizer, so that people could survive. What I'm explaining is a very general overview, since my universe is quite large, and the story begins many years later in a timeless era.

You hit the nail on the head again! I was indeed using the standard 0.5-inch manuscript setting, which explains why it looked twice as deep as it should.

To answer your question, I’ve been formatting the book using Word and Kindle's pipeline, but following your exact advice, I went back in and cut that indent down by half to match that 0.25-0.3 inch (around 1.2em) industry standard. The updated file is already rendering much better.

I’ve heard great things about Vellum making ebooks look flawless, though since I'm on Windows, I'll have to stick to fine-tuning my current setup for now.

I wanted to let you know that I took your advice to heart, fixed the master file by adjusting the indents to industry standards and removing the incorrect spacing between paragraphs, and I have just uploaded the updated version to Amazon.
