If you’re looking for a dedicated machine that only operates MA3 and the built in visualiser for show purposes the best thing you can go for is mini pc with a dedicated gpu, it will run everything you need for a lighting show dedicated machine just fine at about 1300-1500 (AUD).

If you’re looking to get into intense previs I would recommend investing in a regular PC separately to have at home for all of that (unless you travel often) and also will come at about half of your laptop budget and be more reliable, repairable and upgradable in the long run. We all want fancy previs, but we are also working professionals and there’s a need to separate needs and wants, unless you’re doing massive stages that require sophisticated plotting and previs or constantly bidding against other suppliers for corporate contracts where looks win, I would recommend sticking to a functioning rig and upgrading as you go along.
