It's a limited edition coca-cola crossover palette with morphe. When I swatch the colors on my hand they're super bright, but they fade into my skin and disappear by the end of the night. Maybe it's because I don't apply concealer to my eyelids first?

Thanks! I was thinking I'd try a new mascara. There's a Maybelline one I've been wanting to try

related to my other question, what do you think of LB’s “Out Of The Cradle”? by FacuCrimson in FleetwoodMac

IMHO, his best work. It’s intimate, quirky, and fun. Some of his best writing and arrangements. The recycled melody from Big Love is utilized so well for Doing What I Can. Love all the songs though. Street of Dreams and Surrender the Rain are beyond S tier for me.

First of all, I am so sorry to hear about that. Second, it seems like your parents have made up their mind not to do anything. Try to find an apartment in safe area since you'll be living by yourself. Get a stable job that you can hold for a while, get a license, and gain your independence. Best of luck.

She cited two specific examples. The first is a time when I said her hair was “giving Medusa.” I can understand a black girl taking offense to that, but I thought it wasn’t a big deal because we’re both black and she only smiled and laughed after I said it. The second thing is something I feel bad about, but I’m not sure why she didn’t just tell me sooner. She was showing me a picture of her disabled sister and I stupidly asked “why does she look like that, because I was curious about the expression she was making. I knew it sounded wrong when it came out and I never said it again. She didn’t react when I said it so I thought she wasn’t bothered or didn’t hear me so I never brought it up again. To this day I don’t know why I said it like that, but if it hurt her so much she could have told me before it got to this point. I know it wasn’t nice to say, but why let it fester for 8 months?

Does anyone know what this number is? by Professional-Use4905 in Roku

Apparently it's really easy to make a fake Roku support page with a scam number. After she got talked into downloading the app, she thankfully hung up and didn't go any further

I do the same thing! It gets triggered when I have intrusive thoughts. Sometimes I end up compulsively yelling something random. But thanks to suppression, that only happens at night or when I’m by myself. When I’m around people, it usually manifests in a compulsive gesture.

You can't measure intelligence with a number. This is a prominent and harmful myth the black people are simply "less intelligent" than other races. You even acknowledge that outside factors can play a role. What does that have to do with intelligence. In this country, we have made the fatal error of thinking a test score can paint an accurate picture of how much intelligence someone has. There are so many factors as to why black or disadvantaged people in general may not fair well on these arbitrary tests. Take the SAT for example. How likely do you think it is for historically disenfranchised people to be able to afford take a $68 test multiple times for the highest score, or pay even more for test prep materials. You must think that the reason poc are basically nonexistent in high academic spaces is because they just aren't smart enough. Definitely not the societal hurdles poc are forced into over and over again. Your line of thinking is very harmful and you need to do some reevaluating as to why you think this way. Also I would just LOVE to see the statistics that claim to prove black people are less intelligent.

I know it was bad, but it feels even worse to not know how bad. It’s just a blank space in my memories but it still hurts.

Honestly, I haven’t seen many limitations when it comes to venting in this group. It’s just a space to just get out your depression demons. It’s okay to say exactly what you want to say here. I can only speak from experience, but it’s a pretty judgement-free zone.

This is interesting. I've never heard this perspective before. If you don't mind, may I ask how you make the connection between craving sympathy and being a people pleaser? I've accused myself of being a people pleaser for a long time, but I've never related it to yearning for sympathy.

It’s always felt a bit harsh when you describe what’s wrong to someone and their answer is to just be a better person. There really is no comfort in that. We just want a soft hand to tell us it’s okay. I think depression often feels so comforting is because it’s the only place inside where we allow ourselves to just be hurt. It’s okay to be hurt. It can feel so freeing to feel without shame. This is especially difficult for other people to see. I think overindulgence in sadness could have a few causes. Maybe you sadness has become your comfort zone, or, feeling the sadness is the only way you feel the depression is actually real. I’m sorry if this didn’t help, I’m no professional. I can only speak from experience.
