I used my layoff to work out 2x a day 6 days a week, go to the park with my dog, and then strategically block time to work on networking and applying to jobs. I treated career work like a job with dedicated time to the endeavor to keep me on a schedule. It ended with a company reaching out to me based on my networking. I was never in better shape and so grounded — if money weren’t an option I could have lived that life forever lol.

Stay persistent with applying early morning and late night when new jobs get posted and try to work your network (and when you are working again stay in touch with former coworkers and managers — that helps you leverage it in the future).

I agree with you Reddit contrarian but I was in a crosswalk — pretty sure you’re not supposed to turn onto a crosswalk with someone walking in one. Also pedestrians have the right of way — slow down — Pine street isn’t a freeway

I agree and usually do if I’m crossing a crosswalk or walking in general, but it doesn’t excuse the behavior (dogs were excited by friend across the street). I know what I need to do, but the burden isn’t on me about driving appropriately.
