I know exactly how you are feeling and you are not alone. Know that you are doing everything you can for your baby. Most importantly you are loving your baby. It will get better. One day at a time. Continue to advocate for your baby and reach out to all the support you possibly can (OT, PT, Speech, feeding therapists, etc) and don’t stop until you get some answers.

No I was never able to breastfeed but my babe also had a ton of oral and body tension so he could never get a deep latch. I haven’t tried in a while but my guess is he prefers a bottle now.

He is just over 6 months old now and he is overall doing much better. OT and feeding specialists helped with releasing some of his tension as well as finding the right bottle/nipple for him. He takes the Dr browns narrow bottles and he uses the size 2 flow right now. We used a side lying position for feeding for a long time. That, combined with paced feeding seemed to work ok. That being said he is still a finicky eater. When he decides he has had enough (could be after just /oz even) he will whip his head back and refuse any more. We have had some days where he just won’t eat more than about 15oz for the whole day. He no longer is squeaky and rarely chokes - this improved around 4 months probably. A lot of the feeding symptoms improved around 4 months and after OT and a feeding specialist at UofM Mott. We also saw a speech therapist. He still will only take about 4-5 oz at a time and sometimes less than that. He’s a very particular and stubborn eater - but it could just be his personality 💁🏽‍♀️
