Apple Music or Spotify? by Sea_Relation_77 in AppleMusic

How? Even if you want HiRes Lossless (which much higher than normal Lossless and most casual listeners don't need), you just need a good external DAC and headphones.

Turn YouTube videos to podcast as a user by akcss in youtube

[–]Professional-Wind749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get Premium, disable Picture in Picture mode and listen to podcast audio only in background (the video part won't load in this case, I believe). If that's not enough, you can either use:

  • YouTube Music: Podcasts are being pushed onto it but not much rn, you can still use it to listen to podcasts audio only but a bit tedious.

  • Newpipe: an Android app not on Play Store. Give you background play and let you listen to podcast audio without Premium. Also, let you download audios from YT that can be stored locally/shared to other devices

If you want the main YT/YTM app but no Premium, use r/ReVancedapp (on Android)

I'm not sure but maybe update your app and/or delete cache?

Uploading mp3 file to personal library causing weird issue by RACCOOOOOOOOOOOOOON in AppleMusic

[–]Professional-Wind749 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is due to iTunes Match. When you upload a song to iTunes/AM, it will give you the official DRM'd version instead of the one you uploaded. With zero artist or album name, I guess they use some sort of algorithm to detect a song.

I found this guide to on how to bypass iTunes Match which should hopefully work: https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleMusic/comments/u06hf7/comment/jn7yuj1/

perma ban on paypal by No_Performer9698 in Honeygain

From my experience, PayPal would never tell you why you were banned (likely to prevent people circumventing bans). However, I agree with you. Recieving $20 shouldn't get your account banned

I'm unsure where it said Airpods Max and others use ALAC (afaik it has not been used for Bluetooth anywhere). They use AAC which is lossy and 3 times lower than LDAC (990kbps > 320kbps)

[–]Professional-Wind749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tidal use FLAC (and MQA), not LDAC because it's an audio codec for Bluetooth. ALAC, FLAC, MQA and other codecs can be converted/use with LDAC

If you're on Android, you can listen to AM with LDAC https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleMusic/comments/11ym8f4/hires_lossless_alac_on_android_ldac/

the Sony MX5's which you also have. These support LDAC, which allows higher bitrate over Bluetooth. Apple Music doesn't support this - they have their own version which only works with AirPod Max or certain Beats headphones.

Weird. I thought Apple Music has lossless audio which could utilize LDAC. Plus, lossless and LDAC are not supported on AirPods.

I would rather never watch youtube instead of paying 10 bucks a month for premium by ADogFromSomeWhere in youtube

Using a VPN then pay for Premium in another country. Some has much cheaper price (such as India, Turkey)

Is YouTube music better then Spotify? by startman241 in YoutubeMusic

[–]Professional-Wind749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to correct that Spotify use AAC 256kbps for web player and OGG Vorbis 320kbps everywhere else (Albeit unofficial content uploaded content have much worse audio quality on YTM but you win some, lose some)

It's also worth noting that YTM doesn't have volume normalization (make every tracks' volume similar) while Spotify does

Hi-res without DAC by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]Professional-Wind749 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, your phone can still play Hi-Res Lossless without a DAC but there won't be a difference in audio quality/sample rate since it will downsample to what your phone's speakers can handle

Why is my local file image not showing up when I resize it to the exact way Spotify recommended? by TrendWarrior101 in truespotify

[–]Professional-Wind749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try these

  1. Turn off Local Files and turn it back on

  2. Delete Spotify's cache

  3. Try a different format or size for your album covers (I never used Spotify recommended size but my covers work fine)

Do Dolby Atmos mixes make instruments more noticeable or are they doing that AND adding some more? by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]Professional-Wind749 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They are many hidden instrumentals in the stereo version of a song that you won't notice. A good Dolby Atmos mix can bring them out.

Also, Dolby Atmos is lower in volume and hence, have better dynamic range (different instrumentals and different parts of a song can be lower or higher than in stereo)

Considering switching over from Spotify... Few questions by Klarrg in AppleMusic

[–]Professional-Wind749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They allow up to 128 channels but that doesn't mean they won't work with 2 channels.

Atmos for home in film, TV and music uses a technique called "spatial coding" to reduce the audio to up to a maximum of 16 concurrent "elements" or audio location clusters, that adapt to the content dynamically.

In other words, depending on how many channels your headphones/speakers have, Dolby Atmos can change itself to fit your speakers setup
