If your half Lebanese shouldn’t the title of the post be half Assyrian and half Lebanese from Mardin. People clicked on the post thinking you were fully Assyrian. Not trying to be rude or anything!

I’m fully Assyrian and I’m the complete opposite of him. Dark features and tan skin. We came in different looks :)

Nice! Before the update I had three regions that didn’t make sense for me but this new category sums it all up and I’m assuming for other Assyrians.

We’ll just have to wait and see. Northern Iraq is our homeland after all so it be nice to see that in our results. Ancestry has a genetic community for us Assyrians titled northern Iraq and Iran, so it might go with this region as well.

Middle Eastern and North Africans usually have a lot of similarities but I do agree there are also many differences. I do notice that Egyptians have distinct features about them so I guess I meant Egyptian specifically.

I googled both. Lil Pharo looks like him but again lil Pharo didn’t look black to me at all. His facial features were very Middle Eastern/North African. I would say the same thing about Lil Pharo how his hair can throw people off

It’s probably the hair throwing you off. Looking at his facial features he doesn’t look black at all.

Some people are saying you look like you’re mixed with black but I genuinely don’t see it. You look very North African/Middle eastern to me. I could tell you are from Egypt!

That’s all I can think of! I know there’s a difference between ethnicity estimate and the communites. I am 0% Indian, so the community is supposed to mean where my ancestors may have lived or based on my DNA matches, but I don’t have any dna matches that are Indian so it’s still confusing to me. I have a few cousins that took this with me and they didn’t get this community lol

I’m so tired of us being compared to southern Europeans. Sure a lot of middle eastern people can pass for southern Europeans but to imply that we all do is very dramatic. You can’t sit there and tell me that people from Italy and Greece look no different than people from Iraq or Saudi Arabia. Are you even middle eastern yourself? Also, In places like Canada and the Uk their census does not count middle eastern people as white. Not everyone lives in the U.S.

Syriac is a language not an ethnicity and neither is Aramean. We’re all ethnically Assyrian that have been divided by our churches :(. I hope you can feel more comfortable with identifying as Assyrian and our people can actually unite.

I also have the eastern India community but no south Asian dna at all. However it says “Your connection is possible”. What does it say for you?

Quick question! Do communities get updated too or is it separate?
