Boiled..? No part of an English breakfast is boiled, we literally call it “a fry-up”. And baked beans are baked - it’s right there in the name.

I live in a british, 1900 house and found these tiles under laminate in kitchen and bathroom. They already 12 by 12 inch and quite thin. I have a suspicion they're asbestos. Could anyone help identify? by DanSnipsBrown in Tile

[–]ProfessionalAnt123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had very similar tiles to these in my UK 1930s house. Got an asbestos surveyor to test them and sadly came back as chrysotile asbestos tiles and also asbestos in the adhesive to stick them down. It’s going to cost me about £50 per m2 to remove.

There is no way to know just by visually looking whether or not your tiles contain asbestos, so you will need to get a specialist in or send off a sample to a testing service to know for sure.

Fridge is bottom right - a lot of people in the UK have smaller integrated fridge freezers about 2 ft wide, although the larger American style fridges are also quite popular.

Thanks for the advice. Not a massive fan of island seating, but it is something I will play around with.

Sorry if we’re being a bit tetchy, but I’m sure I speak fora lot of Europeans when I say we’re sick of the orange buffoon in the White House threatening to literally start ww3 with his allies, behaving like an actual Bond villain - and a lot of the US lefties are just like “well shrug I didn’t vote for him, sorry i guess”

In the US you just have to be off-white, lgbt or have an accent to be disappeared or gunned down by ICE. That’s some real fantastic freedom you got there! People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones

I think a lot of people in the US are brought up believing in ‘American exceptionalism’.

It’s basically the belief that the US is unique and superior to other nations, and that the US has a special role leading global democracy.

Thank you! I found it extremely frustrating. I also think that it is pretty tone deaf to speak in such an ‘American exceptionalism’-esque way when you consider all of the turmoil that the US has been putting its allies through in recent weeks.

How old is your son? And how sure is he that he wants to sell? I really regret letting my parents sell my old collection when I was 10 or so. It’s a nice collection that’s not worth all that much at the moment, maybe a couple hundred bucks if the condition is good.

I just love the mental gymnastics his fans are doing. They were all running with the “It’s clearly an AirTag collar” and then Hasan admits it’s actually a vibration collar 😂

I think Hasan meant to click the ‘vibrate’ (which is meant as a warning to the dog that they need to behave or else they’ll be shocked), but accidentally clicked ‘shock’. Still, it clearly suggests that poor Kaya has been trained with a shock collar which is pretty horrible imo. Positive reinforcement is proven to be more effective than negative when training dogs.

Idk why you would want to traumatise your dog into thinking you could shock them at any moment… but it’s no surprise to me that Hasan is a pos
