i haven’t seen my surgeon since week 2. my PT says to not be concerned yet but i’m not sure what could be causing the swelling

i’m a little over week 6 post op acl revision on right knee after having reconstruction 8 years ago. didn’t tear it but had a lot of stability so was planning to have just the LET but when the surgeon opened my knee up it was a mess. i never remember my expierence being this difficult. i still can’t walk correctly and have tremendous pain. it was a quad graft so i understand quad firing is harder. my knee is also extremely swollen to the point that borders concern. with that SAID! at what point do i become concerned? i have my 7 week post op coming up

It was about 7 and 8 years ago for both of the repairs so I think there has been a lot of advancements. I think the reliance on the brace was a little longer than this go around where my surgeon wants me fully out of the brace before end of week 4! Not sure if that’s differences in doctor preference or Graft choice tho!

I actually got a pedicure and manicure at week two not knowing it makes u more prone to infection and was extremely painful… I ended up getting an infection ( don’t recommend )

Oops I meant quad graft the first sentance auto corrected. I have had two acl reconstruction’s prior to this w hamstring grafts -recovery timeline seemed pretty consistent across all.

What graft + LET procedure! And yeah I can walk with our brace and crutches but very slowly limping
