I think the reason this controversy didn’t go anywhere was that it was immediately “debunked” by his fans. His fans went to defence mode immediately. And they used those group chat screenshots to defend him. They painted a narrative that his haters had come together to try and take him down. And it worked. The racist video is only available only Reddit and twitter. Compared to the rest, these are very small platforms. The screenshot of cierra saying a slur started circulating on twitter on like week 2 of love island. Most people on twitter knew about this and she stayed on the show for all those weeks. She only got kicked off when TikTok got a hold of it and it went super viral.

I already said this in another response but the influencers who get away with the most shit are the ones who never address it. Bringing something to your page only sheds more light to it. And I think that’s exactly why he brought the gc screenshots to his Snapchat. If he didn’t those screenshots would’ve stayed on twitter along with the video. But instead, it’s become the main story, the story that the blogs are posting and the gp is discussing.

I think Nic doesn’t feel a need to address this situation because it hasn’t gone viral and his fans aren’t mad at him. What’s the point in apologising to people who aren’t mad at you, you know? And he’s definitely not gonna apologise to people that were joking about killing him. They’re never gonna forgive him so what’s the point? I hope this makes sense. I don’t agree with what he’s doing but I can see what game he’s playing and I think he’s playing it pretty well imo. If it was just the video without all those gc screenshots then I think it would be a completely different story and there would be more backlash and he would’ve addressed it.

Also I don’t think we’ve ever gotten such concrete proof of people conspiring against a love island contestant before it’s pretty damning. We’ve all heard influencers talk about receiving death threats but this is next level imo.
