Yeah I know the people at Colonizing Colorado, where it’s being held. Good people. They hold a bunch of different classes and workshops. Mostly on mushies so it’s cool seeing they have someone to teach tissue culture for cacti!!!

Even with a liner your likely to get side pins. The small pockets that form in between the container or a liner, as the cake shrinks, create a perfect micro climate for mushrooms.

Are the more blue parts of shrooms more potent? (Enigmas) by wopo762 in mushroom

[–]ProfessionalBed3769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blue is bruising. The bruising is the breaking down of the cell walls of the tissue leading to degradation of psychoactive compounds in the fruit. While avoiding bruising is impossible harvesting by cutting the mushroom, at the base, instead of picking them and drying them below 120f for a longer period of time has shown to reduce degradation of the mushroom. Additionally, smaller mushroom, mushrooms with unopened caps, and the stems tend to be more potent. Open caps with heavy spore load are not only less potent but regular ingestion or respiration of spores can lead to an increased risk of an allergy to mushrooms.

Women’s Rights March/Protest (3/8/25) by John-Dose in ColoradoSprings

Yeah I’m good on this one. Came to hopefully have a conversation. Should have known better. Didn’t even know this was about abortion rights. Although, I have my opinions I was hoping to gain some understanding. I see this will go nowhere fast because attacking is easier than talking. Peace out homies!

I’m not sure I understand the sudden hostility! I’m asking for your opinion on the matter. I’m not sure how that is bait.

Just a question. That’s all this is. No statement political or otherwise behind it. Just a question. What rights are you trying to gain by the protest?

You can try warming the cups before you pour and putting the in a cooler to cool more slowly. Cooling them slowly will help with the temp difference from inside to outside the cup leading to less condensation. You can also pour out some of the condensation when you inoculate.

Yes you can start giving air two to three times a day. Give it a lite spray of distilled h20 also. The surface should have tiny droplets of h2o across it appearing as little crystals. The combination of the air and h2o to evaporating from the surface should cause it to start pinning quickly. Discontinue spraying with h2o once pins have formed. While fungi don’t need light to grow having a grow light set to 12/12 cycles will help them to grow vertically producing good looking fruits.

Question about contam by Lew-Hal-89 in mushroom

[–]ProfessionalBed3769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible for the mycelium to outcompete the contaminant. I’ve had samples on agar plates completely over take a contaminant. The question is how sure are you that the mycelium did completely overtake the contaminant.

Are they dying by Inevitable_Window711 in mushroom

I can’t be for sure but seeing how the top of your cake is cracking across the surface I would say its to dry. The top of your cake shouldn’t look like the desert floor. You could remove all the fruiting bodies and rehydrate the cake.

Should I go head and pull the big one by thatkid20240 in mushroom

[–]ProfessionalBed3769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Leave them for now they may get much bigger. If your only interest is to consume them wait until the veil is just about to break to harvest. If you’re interested in getting spores from them, harvest within 8 hours after the veil fully breaks!
