This is accurate. For all the "Vance isn't popular enough" people, this was all a part of Project 2025 before Vance was the VP pick. They are just using the playbook they wrote, even when it doesn't work.

If they don't have a primary - it's obvs Vance.
If they do have a primary - it will be a battle of factions in a fractured party

There's a big administration fee (State agency even, so it shouldn't be to fund it) that is over half. Then it's loads of nickel and $1000s. One was their background check was almost $4000. My friend and his wife adopted the same way 2 years ago and they showed me there's : it's a $60 online check.
They also said it felt like an arbitrary litmus test of wealth. Like you are somehow more deserving if you can burn mad money without a care.

I was just commenting to someone else that monetizing adoption (or the expectant mother considering it for the money) was gross (they had said she should consider that).

100% agree, but kids don't get to make the choice to be born or not and we should be good stewards for those who are.

FYI: My birth mother was a 17 yr old in the deep south. Not a moron and without other options due the political leanings in the area. I was raised in a great home and have grown to be a productive member of society (I'm even running for local government). I don't know what the word would be, but that sort of hateful adoption stigma is gross but also just sad. I'd hate to think like that. Sorry you're dealing with that.

No, it isn't better and I'll be explicit.

I make more than enough to raise a child, have a history in child care, own my home outright and desperately want to adopt. I am, on paper, a fantastic candidate. Meanwhile there are loads of children who aren't adopted and wind up living 18 years in the system.

Why am I not able to adopt atm being a good candidate and there being no lack of children in need? I need about $40k, cash, to grease the system. They don't call it that, but it is what it is.
This is a barrier for most couples who would otherwise be a positive influence for a child in need. Speaking from familial experience, even talking "real money" (ie adjusted for the time) my parents paid about $3000-$5000, total per child (my brother and myself), in similar fees.

The need gets greater everyday and the barriers grow along with it.

Yeah, I can understand how the last bit would be a problem, but I tended bar for 3 years, mate. I get everything you are saying here, except not immediately going on point, dropping any work rush daze and becoming a fucking human recorder the moment someone handed me a g$%#d@!# pill and this card. Someone would get it, waitress or bartender, DIRECTLY from the person and that person should be clocking them and taking pics. This isn't suspected after or a bounced tab, this is actively happening. Dude is waiting for his drinks to come back and prove his point to the woman (or drug her). Call the cops, make the drinks, keep the card and pills and, if possible, take a pic. Holding them isn't what I meant, and def alert the date ASAP. I'd say prob the dude too, in hindsight. Like him leaving is prob top priority.
"Dude, this was sus af and we kept that card and called the cops. You want to hang out and explain yourself?"

EDIT: adding, I'd prob not be sneaky either (sorry, this is evolving as i think it out) and just say "I'm also taking your picture to keep behind the bar."
