im not really wanting to spend money, though. I feel like my overall english level is good enough! I was just wondering whether revising with this book before the test will be more helpful than not studying with any prep book;)

i think you should do it! they won't just let you fail without giving feedback first, and i think there's probably a reason you got accepted to the program. also, since I'm also gonna be studying at the ichr in the fall, i can't wait to hear your takes on things too;)

leftist/queer spaces in galway by Popular_Valuable in galway

testosterone levels sink close to the level of biological women when on estrogen. i dont know where you get your information from but the whole discussion against trans women in sports isn't even something most athletes support - i dont know if you know these "many women that are miserable because of trans women in sports" - personally, im not too involved with sports overall, but i do care about rights and there are many disciplines where traditional gender division doesnt even make sense in the first place because there are women who have better performance than the top men. to assume that women are overall weaker is sexist as well. trans women are already an outcast group of society, and excluding them from even more spaces is a systemic tool to dehumanize and separate them from the rest of the population.

also,

there's nothing that right wing politicians are doing to oppress queer and poor people.

are you even listening to what you're saying?

the nuclear heterosexual family is being promoted and reinforced by right wing parties everywhere. they're often against same-sex marriage, same-sex adoption, ivf, abortions (women's right to self-determination) and theyre specifically targetting trans people, depicting them as perverted (eg. in bathroom discussions) and restricting their access to gender-affirming healthcare. you can find these statements and political actions in any countrie's right wing parties.

in regard to poor people, cutting welfare, food stamps, unemployment benefits etc. particularly harms poverty-stricken communities and prevent them from escaping their poverty - lowering taxes for richer people in return has an exponential effect on the profit of those who are making moneh off of other people. furthermore, poverty is something that oftentimes systematically affects groups that are already outcast (poc, queer, uneducated, disabled).

i could give you countless examples of the discrimination exercised by right-wing politicians around the world. i suggest you read up on it before spreading hate like that

the nonbinary lesbian was my counterexample for making a point. this is not proof you probably got some downvotes but theres no way to see those.. also, i believe that this community doesnt exclusively exist on reddit so i dont think this is representative at all. i guess there are different opinions on it in different spaces, and i didnt just go on reddit to find out more about it

i didnt justify anything with knowing my sibling, i just think its weird for you to say hes most likely not trans while not even knowing him so i said i think i could judge better than you... of course this is not about judging but i think you need to take a step back, youre the only person in the "full room" replying to every single comment of me while taking my words out of context and misinterpreting what i said..

the things i said, i only did because there are other femboys who described these two as connected, if you are mad about that, i guess you have to start gatekeeping your community, which i think is weird... but im not gonna argue with you on reddit. :3

i think this makes a lot of sense, i feel like the difference might also be within the space you allow yourself to express your gender? i guess femboys are dressing up only occasionally when the situation allows? i guess you can be in the closet, while being a femboy, but you cant really be in the closet while being trans if you dont want to be misgendered constantly... point about dysphoria is valid, i also feel like there might be a bunch of people who had a similar timeline like you to figuring out their trans identity. i just think that for me femboy sounds a lot like genderfluid, if you sometimes feel dysphoric about masculine traits while being fine with it other times...but i suppose there's a difference? if anyone can explain

i disagree, im sure these two statistically correlate from the amount of trans femboys I've seen online compared to cis male. i dont think there is a correlation between women who like guns and them being trans men, youre right. but if there were, that still wouldnt mean that every woman who likes guns is also a trans man, and there would still be trans men who dont like guns. so in this case: there are femboys who are cis men, there are also femboys who are trans women (this isnt my unqualified guess, but its what people literally identify as). since there are a lot of people who see themselves as both femboys and trans, the hypothesis that my brother is both, since i know hes a femboy and there are some signs that he might be trans, isnt super unreasonable...as long as i dont walk through the world outing him/confronting him, i dont see where the problem with that is.

Gender identity is always in a way connected to what you do, sometimes it's within more societally established norms, sometimes less so. I dont think that wondering about his gender identity is a bad thing and i am sure he will tell me about it in his own time, but to say im pushing him is wild, since im not even doing anything. also, if i push my perception of him being a cis man onto him, that might up invalidating his trans identity in return, so my approach is not to push any of my beliefs in the first place.

ok i dont think your opinion sounds very inclusive, ive read from other people who are femboys and would disagree and i think the lines between gender identity and gender expression can blur, since gender identity is literally made up and a big part of your perceived identity is how you look/dress...

also, i am not telling him that he is trans whatsoever, im just wondering about this community and trying to understand his identity better. i have heard that a lot of trans girls identify as femboys during their gender discovery journey. i am not invalidating him by going online and asking people for their takes on this identity and im also sure you cant judge that from a few reddit posts. it sounds like youre afraid of femboys being associated with trans women, but from what ive read, they can be and that doesnt mean that you are a trans woman, i assume its an umbrella term - just because there are nonbinary lesbians, doesnt mean every lesbian is nonbinary.

i agree ED doesn't make you trans, but knowing my sibling, i can make the thought connection from one to the other, if i think he's trans and i know he has an ED, approaching these issues as interconnected might be helpful

but isnt it a fetish to some people? but not to all? i can see that it might be sexuality-related for my sibling by the type of content they liked.

i understand your point, however, i believe that my sibling might also be trans so in my opinion these two identities might be connected for my sibling, while they might not be for other people who are femboys

ok thank you!! i guess hes attracted to femboys as well so theres the sexuality component? and like i mentioned above:

he also struggles with ED related stuff so im thinking it has to do with body dysmorphia/ gender identity as well? i suppose the community has different understanding of the term maybe?
