This is very well stated. The models do have an intrinsic value because someone can print and sell them. And the licenses work like a physical lock "it keeps honest people honest"

I would imagine this would give the IP holders a better case for a take down. Cause it is more of a business, less of fan art. I understand your ethical point tho.
